Just to check @regmcfly - please don't take this as me being condescending.

You have the cable (yellow/red/white plugs) from the N64 going into that adaptor on the NTSC/input side.

Then you should have a cable with the same 3 colours from the PAL/output side to the SCART adaptor and then into the TV?

Yeah, I was going by this review on the Amazon page.

The elephant in the room could of course be that the telly is fine and it's a cable fuckery issue. The amount of fucking around with differently wired cables i had to do back in the day was unreal.

Aye. Cables can be the problem too. The only thing that prevents me from thinking it's pushing out 50Hz is there are no sign of the borders one gets with a PAL N64 on reg's pics. The review doesn't bode well but I'm not sure that's entirely accurate.

Cables could be eliminated by using them to connect the N64 to a modern TV and check there's a colour image there..

Nintendo being Nintendo, it would appear there are also differences in the cables from different regions.

Do you have more than one Nintendo composite cable you can try H?

Yeah - the s-video cable is wired differently. Not sure if that affects composite but you never know.

Its only an RF and a Scart port on the back.

What i haven't done yet is fire up the AV Modded famicom. Will make a point of doing that and the GC / GB Player tomorrow. For now I'm just gonna plow through Final Fight.
