New Larkin Poe single is out and it’s a shoutalong rocker. Clearly written for playing live on the tour next month. AS IF THAT’S STILL GOING TO HAPPEN. Dammit.
That's Kenny rogered then. Everything about this Lionel Ritchie penned song and his performance tugs on the heart strings and not a dry seat in the house.

I heard on the news that when asked what his greatest achievement was, he said it was when he was ranked higher than Bjorn Borg in doubles tennis ranking. Nice.
Working through Isbell's albums atm (just the three?) - tbh I think Southeastern tails off in the second half kinda heavy, Cover Me Up and Elephant the only two that made it to my country playlist.
Didn't get a lot from his latest, but only ran through the once, will spin again.
Currently going through his first(?) - Sirens Of The Ditch, and this has gone straight into my playlist, loving the vibe:
Also delve into the Driveby Truckers for some of his best work to date. He didn't write a lot for them, but the majority of his offerings were exceptional. Outfit, Decoration Day, Danko/Manuel, Goddam Lonely Love - all still in his top ten tracks.
Fucking hell. Three more beers and I might've had a little cry at that. I'm down on Patterson Hood from time to time but when he gets it right he absolutely nails it.
I read in the sleeve notes to CCR's debut album I used to have that John Fogerty was always a bit put out in the 60s that they weren't considered as good as the likes of Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Grateful Dead et al. Tbh I think, with the exception of Grateful Dead (who tbh I know nothing about aside from one or two tracks), CCR have far, far outlived the others. Marathon, not a sprint.
