On the bus, in my cot. Damn it's hot. Doubt I'll sleep well tonight. The bad news is I should be in London for about 7am but I'm not actually onsite at Borehamwood till 1pm.
Weaving through the streets of Londinium now. Didn't sleep well at all. Too hot and restless. Always takes a whole to get back in the groove so to speak with these trips.
Regardless, I find myself in an uncharacteristically good mood this morning. Always find it a bit strange being here in the summer, but the piles of garbage in the streets, the endless chicken shops and nail bars, and the rampant multiculturalism are proving to be a sight for sore eyes.
Crossed London and now on a train heading back up to Borehamwood.
Weather is certainly much better here than it was when I left Glasgow last night.
Flagging now, but still in a reasonable mood.
I was last night, x lots. Â Hadn't been to one of the squadron nights out since I joined, so was actually a little nervous; the nature of our operations means you go weeks without seeing some of the people as you're on opposite shifts, and as I'd been on leave I hadn't been at the briefing day preceding the drinks.
So I had a couple of little beers at home to quell the nerves, forgot to have dinner, and then was unsurprisingly a bit ruined by just a few pints of some sort of powerful hefeweizen. Â I got a lift home, waved politely to everyone, clattered into the house when everyone was asleep, tried to cook food, and left it in the oven to burn until my wife got up and turned it all off, as I fell asleep on the sofa. Â
Which means I'm predictably in the bad books today, so am sitting quietly watching My Little Pony with the little one while my wife and mother-in-law go shopping. Â Hopefully that'll calm her temper down a bit
Your normal burgers and fries must be pretty dire then.
