Un-stumped. (I'm sure what worked was what I tried yesterday, but ho hum!)
It's longer than I thought. Reckoned i was nearly there but in fact only half way per the loading dots. Kinda want it to get on with it, or at least give better puzzles or a quicker rate of visual payback. Hopefully just a lull and it'll pick back up.
I thought fucking with the momentum worked well. They continually snag the player after what starts as a blind rush towards outside. The "gah!" feeling was a plus point imo.

I felt the opposite. It had been a game of stalls and frustrations,

I didn't need more when I was supposed to be unfettered. The small one where the facility people are helping you are fine, they add context, chucking a box over sprinklers was perfunctory time wasting.[/spolier]
The puzzles are less enjoyable on a repeat playthrough and the pacing can suffer but on first play I felt they were near perfectly balanced. I never got stuck for long and the solutions were always simple and obvious when they clicked. Overall, I think Limbo is the better puzzle game, but it's also more sadistic than Inside.
The

section took me the longest.
However, I thought the puzzle you mention was excellent, Tempy. Because of the way

the blob controls. There's great tactility to it, but also a frustration which befits trying to make many independent limbs work as one. The puzzle where you manipulate a large wooden pole to push a high button is satisfying for this reason, but succesfully catching the flaming box twice felt even more rewarding.
Mind you, this was an easy GOTY for me, an amazing experience.
It marks a rare instance where i'd remove game elements for a smoother ride. Very good, but not great for me. Can't fault the presentation, but there were times the execution didn't land for me.
Making it a reference doesn't absolve it. It was a good idea but definitely went on too long. The animation and the aesthetics were the best parts. Even in the manymans bit, it was seamless when you were thrown by them.
the animals, too. Chicks milling around your feet. Birds flocking away on approach, then gradually returning if you give them space. And swimming with the fish, a tiny section but for me it was better than Abzu in it's entirety, because it was a lovely change of pace.
Given all the parallels with Limbo I kind of hope they're going for a trilogy of sorts but I look forward to whatever they do next.
I thought he was talking about the bit that isn't easy to do by yourself cos how hard it is to distinguish certain bits of the bit you have to decipher. At least I found it hard and had to look it up.
