The only time I've done those sort of things was the Ruby and Emerald Weapons in FFVII. Dozens of hours of grinding and chocobo breeding to get all the best materia and level it up properly, and then the battles themselves probably took an hour, and I still needed some luck on the Ruby one.hylian_elf wrote:I'm guessing stupid bosses that were purposefully designed to be a ground after you've been grinding for hundreds of hours don't count? Cos I hear Yiazmat in FFXII takes like a whole day to beat or something, if you can even manage that.

MattyJ wrote:@Elf - I think the end boss on XIII took about an hour to fight, and if you didn't pay attention and missed when you should change character roles then game over. Needed to be on it and make sure you were healing/sentinel at right times, quick change to get some attacks in then back to defence. Was a real slog.

Mental stuff. And only because I loved FFVII that much. Never again.hylian_elf wrote:I'm guessing stupid bosses that were purposefully designed to be a ground after you've been grinding for hundreds of hours don't count? It's been so long but I tended to equip ribbon and never knew you could avoid the whisking. I got lucky by having one character killed at the beginning of the battle and only revived him after the whisking attacks had stopped. Was left with 2 characters to do the battle instead of 1, so it was still a slog but doable.hylian_elf wrote:Ruby was easy. Just go in as Cloud with Ribbon and kick his arse, he can't whisk away your characters randomly.
