Looks like we’re finally getting our act together and getting ourselves a dog.
Chosen what kind, picked a breeder, and my name’s on the waiting list for a puppy.
90% sure we’ll get one from the two upcoming litters, one of which have been born just a few days ago. The second litter are due in a couple of weeks. This means we’ll be bringing a wee pup home either at the end of April or the end of May.
I’m SO pleased. It’s been too long with no dog around and I’m massively excited to see how Mrs Poprock gets on with being a dog owner.
So we’re getting a springer spaniel and miniature poodle cross. Might be a boy, or might be a girl. Probably holding out for one that’s chocolate brown with white patches. Should be an energetic mid-sized fluffball with loads of character.
Here’s some dogs from the same breeder, to give you an idea:
The way I figure it half-poodle makes it cute enough to keep the Mrs happy, and half-springer makes it mental enough to amuse me.
Just had to email the breeder/kennels and turn down the GORGEOUS black pup they were offering us right now. Mrs Poprock has her heart set on a brown one. I shed a tear, I can tell you. The wee bugger had a white flash on the back of its neck, and little white back paws. Bloody adorable.
That’ll be either the puppy teeth being dead already and needing to come out, or food getting stuck in the gaps. You could try him on a dentastick, but he’ll avoid any sore areas while he chews so it might not do the trick.
I remember when Riley was teething. She’d suddenly leap up from sleeping, go get her favourite bit of rope, and bring it over demanding a game of tug. Growl and play for a bit, until a tooth would ping out and go flying across the room. Then she’d let go of the rope and wander off to go back to sleep. Clever little fucker, that one.
Yeah, got him on dentasticks and carrots. Both are helping.
He has dried food with a bit of water added so hopefully not too much food is getting stuck. His breath is worst after a nap so guessing it is the baby teeth.
He has one tooth that is just hanging in there, I can wobble it but he won't let me tug it, it will likely fall out while playing with my parent's dog later.
A couple of others are loose too, Just a waiting game for them to fall out really.
Couldn't decide on the pets or kids thread, I'll opt for here because Splodge is a cracker. She's very much a lap cat, she's never completely happy unless she's on one and always has one eye on anyone sitting down.
This was the first time she thought fuck it, ima try sitting on the little one. Lap multiplier:
