I'm really not sure why what anyone else eats/doesn't eat or why they do/don't would have anything to do with anyone else, or why folk'd get so riled. Especially about processed mushrooms.
I'm vegetarian. I have my reasons. I eat Quorn occasionally. So what? I eat dairy. My choice, couldn't care what anyone else thinks, again I have my reasons. I don't try and convert anyone else to vegetarianism (my wife's a carnivore) and I'm not some mad Quorn evangelist. That would be insane.
But of course, none of this matters in the slightest. It. Doesn't. Matter. At all.
Crikey fellas.
