I'm sure he is talking about artistically rather than on a technical level. So it's all subjective. My personal preference is for Zelda's art style. Absolutely gorgeous.
Four hours into this and apart from the fact the save system is shit with its campfire nonsense I'm really loving it's mixture between tomb raider and far cry 3. Can see me completing this
Sometimes here. Sometimes Lurk. Occasionally writes a bad opinion then deletes it before posting..
It's certainly making me look forward to seeing what Kojima and co do with the engine. Seems very capable. I'm not sure if it's just the pro or maybe the load times get worse later on but they seem quick to me and it seems to handle the open world very well.
I'm enjoying this too, certainly eats time. I think I haven't quite gotten the combat down yet though
Just completed this; the combat will click soon Shabby, but stick with the bow because the melee combat is woeful. Graphically, the most impressive game so far this gen without doubt. And I enjoyed it immensely for the most part; looking forward to what the DLC will bring (when its announced!) Will post some deeper thoughts here.
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map
Man, this game is frustrating. There's so much busywork, collectathon gameplay and map chuff (and yes, I know you can turn a lot of icons and stuff off), and many of the side quests are samey and forgettable.
But, I really like the protagonist, the combat is fucking fantastic, the robo Dino ecosystem (which I was very cynical about when it was unveiled) is an absolute joy and the world and environmental design is just gorgeous. I even like the on-the-fly crafting system, which is rarely my bag.
There's a great game here, hidden under incredibly generic 3rd person open-world design.
Just got back to this for pretty much the first time since the Switch came out two days after it released.
While I've picked up most of the controls, I've forgotten how you dodge or block or parry or whatever the fuck it is you do when things jump at you. I also had a really hard time killing the people who ambush you early doors, and your first encounter with the corruptor thing, with loads of deaths. Having finally killed it off, I was given the opportunity to add a new skill. Only then did I see/remember that I'd previously unlocked the ol' slow down time while aiming skill. That would've come in handy if I'd remembered.
It really is a good fun game in a great environment, though. If only a) the weather didn't so rapidly change between gameplay and cutscenes and b) the stunningly rendered faces weren't so wooden in their acting, it would be an absolute belter.
