Skerret's posting is ok to trip balls to and read just to experience the ambience but don't expect any content. "I'm jealous of sucking major dick!"~ Kernowgaz
Final diagnosis was acute renal failure, caught very late. The hairy bastard should absolutely have kicked the bucket - vet hadn't seen a cat lose that much blood and come back to any sort of functional health, especially given that kidney failure in cats is pretty much game over.
Randy = a fucking immortal.
We now have new food for him, especially for kidney and piss purposes.
And we have to syringe feed him extra fluids.
Also gotta have a checkup in 3 weeks.
You probably also noticed patches of missing hair in the pics - we had to shave a lot off because of the mess, and even where there's still some hair we had to take a good half inch off.
But, his collar is now off, as you can all see (the pic I posted previously was when he had just got home - he's had a collar on since then) and yesterday he had a wash so now he smells so much better.
Our older dog's health has spiralled in the last few days so the decision has been made to have her put to sleep. She stays with my girlfriend's parents so we went to visit her and what a state she was in. Struggling to breath, completely blind and immobile. Horrible to see when she's seemingly been fine just 4 days earlier.
It's happening tonight at 6pm when I'm at work. I won't be all smiles.
Her name was Belle and she was 9. Her health was on such a downturn that the vet didn't even manage to put her to sleep. She died there and then when they lifted her up onto the table. Apparently after I left she started arching her back and making a horrible howling sound that they'd never heard her make before so everyone's in a bit of shock, tbh. With the suddenness and having to see her in such distress.
It's a shame for her. She was a rescue dog that had been beaten and starved the first year of her life but could not have been more friendly after Pamela took her in.
