There's plenty of action but most of it not particularly well choreographed, it suffers from horrible old cliches like 10 guys standing around taking it in turns to attack one man and there's some quite terrible acting.
The premise was initially intriguing but they do nothing with it really other than use a particular term as some sort of status symbol for the protaganist.

Thankfully there are some much better action sequences with a few standout characters. I'm also not sure if this is a positive but it's quite a brutal film at points, mostly with various bladed weapons and the practical FX are impressive. It's also quite inventive with how characters are killed/maimed but in more of an OTT or cartoony way at times.

There's one scene in particular that reminded me of a part in Green Room where a character's arm is trapped in a door with people on the other side hacking at it. That was an incredibly visceral and somewhat unsettling scene in GR, handled really well and whilst they're very different films, for all TNCFU's blood and violence, there was little impact - the finale probably the only exception to that where I could feel some of the hits.

Anyway, it's far behind what films like Ong-Bak were doing over a decade ago and not a patch on more recent influences like The Raid. Something in there for gore lovers though.
