This is the article you linked to. You said the reaction would be fun. Why do you think that and why is it about damn time bond is presented as a black woman?

I didn’t write the article or the headline.
The reaction will be fun was meant ironically, and in relation to the decision rather than the article. The reaction is going to be horrific and depressing if the last few years are any guide.
FWIW, out of the last however many years of Bond it has been since Brosnan took over the role, literally the only Bond I’ve watched was Casino Royale. I don’t really care about the films, but I do appreciate barriers for minorities being broken.

There's been a few Bonds, y'know? Like Dr. Who innit.RedDave2 wrote:... No fan of the bond movies but they idea that you replace the main character of a series with a whole new character is rarely going to be appealing. ...
Different actors more or less playing the same guy. And on it has trundled. Sure, each actor got to bring their own take a-la Batman (or Joker) but its still the same basic character.djchump wrote:There's been a few Bonds, y'know? Like Dr. Who innit.RedDave2 wrote:... "More or less"?! I'd say a very much less there, if you're going to compare Dalton-Bond to Moore-Bond. C'mon.RedDave2 wrote:
Well quite. She's not the character Bond, cos Daniel Craig is Bond in the film. She's a different character.Tempy wrote:I felt I gave a pretty decent response to this but it seems to have been ignored. She's gonna be 007 for some amount of time, maybe even not past the film. That's not the same as her taking over from Bond. 007 is just a code.
