Can of tomato, chicken thighs, entire bottle of red plonk, shallot, garlic, couple tablespoons of honey, edamame beans, salt and pepper. Reduce for like an hour.
See, that was the big surprise. Basically you can cook the whole for ages and they don't get mushy, indeed they actually just soak up the general flavour and end up tasting summat like rich bone marrow. Pretty chuffed.
There's an old recipe for pasta tossed in beef stock that goes back god knows when but Nigella Lawson via 1970's Anna del Conte has morphed it into pasta and Marmite, and it's good.
Usual rules apply - ignore recipe instructions and use a small amount of water but toss like buggery in starch, but even more than usual only very lightly season the water and use unsalted butter. It's not an easy dish to pull off re salt levels but if you get it right it's a keeper. It's moreish af.
No more than 1/4 teason Marmite per person, and heavy on the cheese (added while tossing and extra after).
Anyone fancy trying out a Gousto meal box you can get 65% off your first weeks box and 30% off the next 3 if you use my link below. My first box cost £20.50 for 4 meals for 4 people, so less than £1.30 per serving, and they are really decent.
I started because I couldn't be bothered trying to come up with new stuff to cook all the time so this seemed like an easy fix. You can cancel whenever you want to, too.
I can still taste raspberry, and not in a good way. It tasted nothing like beer, and I didn't mind the Hazy Jane Guava. Think I'll lay off Brewdog for a bit.
I’ve been looking for good 0 alcohol beer and the missus bought be some Punk AF, it was nice, but I’d already given up on BD and asked not to buy anymore, shame as it’s good stuff.
Yeah, I’ve tried a lot of lager. Heineken is rank, Peroni is ok. Brooklyn hoppy lager is the best I’ve tried. Think I’m gonna have a punt on a Northern Monk crate of 24 0% IPA.
Practicing some curry dishes this is a mild lamb and tomato curry with coriander rice. The green fresh chilli and ginger garnish adds the right amount of heat.
