I change the gin I use now and then, and assume Campari is essential, can someone recommend me a sweet/red vermouth (specifically for negronis)? I always use Martini Rosso, which comes out great, but it might be time to level up.

Can't help with the sweet vermouth, I go rosso too, but as a halfway house between the Negroni and a Martini I might suggest you conjure up a Lucien Gaudin.
30ml gin
15ml dry vermouth
15ml triple sec or Cointreau
25ml Campari
Stir with ice and strain.
