Dragon's Dogma
  • So much fucking walking though.
  • I'm on Fournival's good side so I get ferry stones for 9000g. I didn't really realise what I was doing at first but I'm basically Fournival's bitch.

Sorry, i'm lazy. So is Dragon's Dogma a good game that I buy now?
  • I like it.

Couldn't find enough time to play over the break, still loads to do.
  • My quest list is MAHOOSIVE right now. Just wandered about Gran Soren and clicked on all the available quests. Figured a bunch of them would be in the same area, so it's a way of being slightly more efficient.

Weirdly enough, one of them was completed almost instantly. I'd picked up something while exploring the city and it turned out to be an item some chap standing next to the noticeboard was looking for. Easiest 50K I'll make in the game! At last I was able to buy decent enough equipment to get to the Witchwood... Had to plough through about 15 bandits at once before getting there.
  • I'm rolling wih Tempy's Tyrius now, quite a po-faced old fellow but handy in a fight.
  • Is he Ranger or Warrior at the moment? If he is the latter i've only just switched him over.

    He don't speak much.
  • He was a Ranger last time I looked. Was thinking of bringing him along, but I'm the Ranger here! Rolling with my Fighter pawn (with pornstar 'tache), a tiny female mage and a tall female fighter who's only so-so.
  • Yeah, he's a Ranger Tempy.

The amount of stored stuff at the inn I have no obvious use for is gettign stupid. I like to leave 'light' everytime and just click through everything.
  • I hear that.

What's the work table for? Haven't figured that one yet.
  • You can craft stuff but the recipe system appears to be rather gash. I just hang on to most of it. Not sure why, I like stuff though.

If he's a Ranger he might have his cool Skulker's Cap on, it blends in with is cape perfectly and with his face fuzz he looks like a strong silent warrior of Eastern persuasion.

Warrior Tyrius has a Dire Wolf cloak BECAUSE.

I hired DJ's Pawn and she is just a LITTLE overpowered.
  • Most things don't stay alive long enough, but when she uses her high powered spells I always laugh as the entire screen fills with comets and earthquakes killing everything instantly.

  • I was on a Chimera's back, hacking away with my Caledbolg when suddenly everything went dark, because she'd used a FUCKING TORNADO on him.
  • I shoulda been a mage. That all sounds awesome.

Nearly went for the Skulker's cap myself, but instead I got the White Cap. I look like a bloody nun gone bad.

Spent loads of money on my Pawn – making him look badass. Horned helmet, big ol' iron shield, nice large boots for kicking arse. Figure if he LOOKS the part a lot of people might borrow him.

FECK IT. Just realised I could probably have made him look like Minsc. Oh well, maybe next time.

Yeah, the tornado is a new addition, might get rid of it because it obscures way too much, but it cost like 8,500 discipline and it tears shit apart soooo...

  • I just hung on. In the end we won.

Mystic Knight is almost Broken levels of awesome though. Great Cannon is unbelievably useful.
  • BUT IT'S A TORNADO!
  • Tornado plus mystic knight's vortex = forget seeing anything ever, but don't care.
  • Oh, that's an idea. I wish you could set gambits on your Pawns like FXII though.

Trying to get it finished this week, walking everywhere is still a pain though.
  • Um...I have a bow that shoots arrows.

Isn't there supposed to be some sort of inter-city teleporter eventually?

This has occurred to me several times. Is there anything in place at all to manually control your pawns besides the d-pad actions?

  • Unfortuantely not, as far as I know.

Tempy did you find a portcrystal yet? I'm just deciding where to set mine..

  • Sorry, I don't know how to use spoilers properly, that was some advice on the portcrystal Nick, not very spoilery.

  • Balls, I took mine out of there, what a pain.

    Spoiler:

So far off to the West then for the fort, after the quarry? Sounds like a plan. My orignial idea was to put it at the Duke's Northern Stronghold (I don't know the name of places, just the pawn lines that you hear over and over to comical effect)

Most annoying/amusing line in the game:

They're masterworks all, y'can't go wrong!

  • Wolves hunt in packs!
  • Yet still not as annoying as some of Skyrim's.

*sigh* I am sworn to carry your burdens...
  • "GRIFFIN!"

    "Wait no, it's flying away."

    "Forget, I said anything."

The blacksmith one is branded in my ears, but the worst voice thing is everytime you enter an area and everyone starts blabbing over each other. "THEY SAY GRAN SOR-" "ALWAYS CARR-" "STICK TO THE ROA-".
