Dragon's Dogma
  • I also came across a large drake but one glance at his hit points, and I was off running.

I left Gran Soren earlier and came across a cart and some knights being ambushed by some goblins just outside the gates. The instant I finish off the goblins and see that a few knights have survived a drake swoops down and finishes them off. I grab onto it start, hacking away doing some pretty decent damage but it shook me off and flew away! :(
  • When you write the incidental stuff down into mini adventures, they sound epic - because they are. Don't forget about the pics thing, if it's working.

Really hope I can claim ownership of the TV for a good 4 hours tonight.
  • Oh god.
I've just been banging on about this game to a mate. I think I've got to get it.
  • You haven't even played it!
  • Tempy, have you got the order in yet?

I feel with where you are you're on the brink of where it unfurls, revealing its beautifully deep and luxuriant belly.

The opening hours aren't representitive of when you truly get out in the field.
  • I've got it from Lovefilm still, no hurry to send it back. I'll see what cash i've got in two weeks time and I may induldge. Going to hammer it this weekend inbetween Breaking Bad, Community and OTHER.
  • I played the demo, Tempy, even though it wasn't wonderful.

Bloody Nick is evangelising this like nobody's business. I'm willing to believe!

It sounds like it has a lot of ingredients that make a happy Cooper. Open world, lots of sidequests, plenty of tinkering with characters in a meaningful way, chopping heads off...
  • Predicting you'll be a bit annoyed/confused to begin with (think we all were), then get into it.

It's not just me it's Moose too, check this:
I love everything about this game. It's definitely my favourite game of the year so far

..and he plays a lot of games I believe.

I'll be very annoyed if the Gran Soren innkeeper doesn't come back. I mean why is there an escort mission with a vital member of the AI anyway. I can't do anything right now.
  • Have you run his name through the wiki? Not sure how well populated it is right now but might be an idea.

  • Sounds a bit similar to losing the Firelink Firekeeper in Dark Souls, it is possible to have her gone for the entire game if you eat her soul like I did SHUT UP

However ZMM, I am nice so here you go:
The inn keeper probably died due to a failed escort quest called "Company for the Road".. you need to go to a different Inn and rest for 7 in game days.. that means resting till morning or night 8 times total.. Asalam should respawn for you.

That's me off til Wednesday. ADDD here we come!
  • This game has made my eyes all red. Yes cheers Tempy I rested a few more days and he came back to me! Changed to a mystic knight so I could use this beast of a mace I found. Didn't realise once you had changed profession it didn't cost you 1000 or 1500 points again, thought it would charge you each time you changed. So I'm now a mystic knight and my former mage pawn is a fighter.
  • Weather getting shit again.  I might be on this very soon. Get ready to whore out yer pawns.
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map
  • Balderak can now summon a shower of meteorites from the heavens. The first time he did it, I shat myself. Thought I was under attack from a wyrm :)

Well i've been playing since 7pm and i've done fuck all except fanny about in the character editor and do a little DLC coin hunting. lol! It's amazing how much time you can waste fucking about.
  • My whole game so far has consisted of fannying about.  Marvellous stuff.  I noticed there was some new DLC today.  Weapon pack and episode 2 of the quest series.
    3DS: 2105-8748-8084 Switch: SW-3316-5834-8308 PSN: aynsleyw
  • I'm doing the occasional quest, but I keep tramping off into the lush wilderness on a whim, encountering all types of weird and wonderful monsters. I've also stumbled across a few places I can't access yet and I'm assuming these are tied in with the main quest. Shiren and his trusty sidekick, Balderak are both lvl 27. I think it's safe to say I'll be buying every bit of DLC released for this.

I tell you what, as uninspired as they are, the first lot of 'find/fetch quest DLC missions' are strangely compelling, and quite clever. Basically you have to find a single coin hidden somewhere in Gransys, but the kicker is; they're hidden in places which already have decent loot (mostly). So you get to see areas you may have never found otherwise. Even the first 3-4 around your hub town were surprising.

You need to download from the Marketplace, by the way. Not the titlescreen.
  • I bought the hairstyles dlc and it probably wasn't worth it, not even for 160 MS points. They aren't distinctive enough from the regular styles.
  • Yeah it's weird how there's only the rift crystal purchasing thing on the main menu. Also I'm guessing the 'Frontier Lands' is gonna be a portal to strange and exotic DLC areas in the future!

You do know that came with a free set of Captain's Armour (which i've been wearing since i got it)?  ;)

Of the DLC i think it's hairstyle No.46 or 47 which is a wonderfully flowing/animated lock of ladies hair, but unfortunately it 'clipped' with the aforementioned armour, so i had to change it.

In other news; i fuckin love Yuria! She is the ultimate healer and buffer. And now she has an aura which you can stand in and it boosts your defence stats. She never attacks anything, which is kinda good cause she's wearing fuck all clothes.
  • I just played five hours straight and it felt like seconds. Mystic Tank doing nasty things while Churro twists gravity as an Archmage.

Goodbye semi-naked Yuria (background: fishing, lol), i've finally found your Witches robes. Almost identical to Quelaana's.
  • It's a sunny Friday morning.

Can't wait to get into my dark cave and play DD all night.
  • Just started it last night and didn't make it very far before heading to bed. Got killed by the very first cyclops. Itching to get back to it, however. As much as I like my new female strider, I think she'd be more comfortable in something other than leather hotpants.
