Martial's out of contract this summer, I wonder if he'll retire at 28. He doesn't seem to like playing football and I doubt even the craziest clubs would match half of his current salary.
Come on now! I wouldn’t mind as much if there wasn’t such a media love-in around it all - we certainly didn’t get it for back to back promotions under Lambert in 2009-11 and nor did Southampton the following year(s)…!
The league table doesn’t lie, and over forty-six games they’ve done incredibly well. Just hoping we can get past Leeds* for a shot at the final and hopes for end up with a top-flight East Anglian derby for the first time since 1995.
* how they’ve blown automatic is an absolute masterclass in bottling it!
Ipswich not bottling it after their Christmas dip and coming back to winning was the big surprise. Total mentality change from the previous three decades or so.
Very pleased that they're nowhere near those playoffs. Definitely didn't fancy Ipswich Norwich.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they found themselves around the middle of the table this first season back up…momentum takes you a long way - Lambert managed to see us into 12th and there’s a richer team behind the scenes at Portman Road than we’ve ever had during our recent years up there.
The Premier League’s brutal though, especially if you get unlucky with fixtures and have weeks without a chance (which can feel like months, there’s actually not many games at all if you’re not in Europe or further rounds of the cups…certainly not when you’re used to the grind of the Championship!).
The lack of knowledge (or interest) in those clubs below the top half from pundits is embarrassing and insulting too…‘it’s gone to matey at the back’, thanks Wrighty, see you next week on Match of the Day for more knowledge…
As a Leicester'er I am not looking forward to var, or fixtures spaced out all over the place next season. It's been refreshing to have most games completed on or very close to the weekend in the championship - just like the old days.
Probably start next season with -6 points, so I can see a quick return.
