I've got a few ideas for my 5. Stormy, you can go with LOEB for one of your 15 if you like. Could someone pm me details of how to upload to the dropbox? Login details etc? If not, I'll just bung Youtube links in the thread.
PM'd and cheers, that's decided which one of my playlists I go with. Just need to decide on the final running order for the first three tracks. Will post my choices here when I do and upload to the DB.
As I say, if we're doing five tracks each, we could each just sort out the track listing for our own five tracks and then we can stick them back to back.
Cenote: White Suns The Theatre Goer: Daughters Fools! Philistines! Heretics And Whores!: Let Our Enemies Beware Half Control: Six Finger Satellite Colossus: Lightning Bolt
I ended up with three five-track playlists to choose from but decided to go with my first idea. I had this noise-punk/hardcore selection in my head since Yoss first mentioned it, and the only track that's changed is the first one.
Until an hour or so ago Eagle/Falcon by Bronto Skylift was the opener, but I switched to the uncomfortable, more noise than rock beauty from New York's White Suns (from my second playlist). After a bit of messing around I discovered I really liked the way it set up the Daughters scrambling mathcore monster.
The LOEB track is one of my all time favourite noise rock tunes, kinda makes me lose it a little bit every time I hear it, and I feel truly sorry for anyone that hears my pitiful screeches and howls as I join in.
The selection is rounded off with a double barrelled blast from Providence, R.I., a pair of proper headbangers from two bands I love. I'm aware Lightning Bolt may also be the choice of others here and I have a couple of stand-ins ready. If you'd set your hearts on 'em just let me know by elevenish and I'll swap them out.
Just re-tagged my choices in iTunes. Changed the album name to Noise For Badgers Vol 1 (same as the folder), put it under various artists, added artwork to the YouTube rip, and provisionally numbered them 26-30 'cus I had no idea about that. Will change the numbers to suit the order Yoss want's.
Yeah I'm looking forward to it too. The folder's currently empty. Are we waiting for Mr Yoss to submit his first? Not sure on noise-compilation protocol
Mine are up now too. The fact that the playlist is alphabetically sorted appeals to no part of my brain although I don't envy whoever takes it upon themselves to rearrange it
I don't know any of those, more stuff to discover. Excellent.
Found a rip of a tape by Providence electro noise-pop duo Humanbeast. Great songs with fantastic vocals and warped, twisted electronics. Enjoying it immensely. They've got an album coming out on August 6th on Load. Have pre-ordered.
SLAB! - People Pie
Happy Flowers - Mom, I Gave the Cat Some Acid
Sielwolf - Beweglich Animalisch
Pussy Galore - Yü-Gung
Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel - Enter the Exterminator
SLAB! track is ripped from vinyl so sorry for the odd crackle.
Happy Flowers are Mr Anus and Mr HCI (Horribly Charred Infant) with their innocent child's view of life.
Sielwolf are German and loud.
The Pussy Galore track is a cover of an Einstürzende Neubauten number, so two noise bands for the price of one.
Foetus track is from the splendid Nail album.
