This is how people end up quitting their jobs to run animal sanctuaries. It starts with rehoming the occasional pup in need. Eventually you live in a zoo and need full-time hours to keep on top of it.
We had to make sure she was good with Finley but we have had no issues tbf. Shes a proper lap dog. Just wants to lay on you like a baby, legs in the air on her back. She weighs the same as a bag of sugar so its no bother, unlike 5 stone Harley the absolute lump.
She is cage trained, but i am going to bin that off after a bit. Gonna get her a bed like Harleys and both dogs can have the run of downstairs.
Only downside i can see is walking her. I am going to look camp as fuck.
Yoshi has had his three month check post surgery, and although we thought he might be hypothyroid after the treatment, he isn't. He just gained 1kg because we love him and treat him too much
So Bramble had another scare last week that he's now almost completely recovered from. He's got miraculous form for bouncing back so I didn't post at the time, but when I booked him in on the Tuesday I didn't expect he'd be coming home. On the Monday night he lost the ability to stand completely, his legs just weren't working properly, front or back. We heard him scrabbling around in the hall in the early hours and all signs pointed to disaster. I carried him to the garden and he couldnt even stand to pee, he just did it lying down. He was in exactly the same way in the morning, just couldn't support his weight at all. I spoke to the vet at 9am and managed to book him in for 3pm. My wife popped home to see him/eat at 12, and she was expecting the same thing...but he walked to the door to greet her. Vet gave him the once over that afternoon and suggested an arthritis flare up. Perhaps he sprained himself during a nightmare (he has them loads these days), or maybe even pulled a muscle during an epileptic fit he may have had (they do occasionally happen, despite the tablets). Whatever it was he was only incapacitated for a few hours.
So long story short, he's still doddery as hell but is enjoying his slow walks again and acting like nothing happened.
