  • Sekiro is extremely moreish and continues to be the most frustrating From game I've played.
Sometimes here. Sometimes Lurk. Occasionally writes a bad opinion then deletes it before posting..
  • Thronebreaker really doesn't want you to have a "normal" battle early on. It's absolutely bizzare. Here is a tute, here are how battles work, here are the "normal" victory conditions. *tute ends* here, have 20 fucking battles with unique rules and winning conditions and one off cards.

Despite that, I'm getting somewhere and it's cool, but fuck me, would have actually killed for some random battles with plebs and normal rules through the opening area just to ease me in.
I'm still great and you still love it.

Put about 8 hours into Borderlands 3 over the weekend. Most of which in one of the DLC missions without actually realising (though I should have known, given I knew it wasn't furthering the actual 'main story'

I continue to have a lov hate relationship with the series, I mostly love it, but then some things just irritate the ever living shit out of me!

Has all the right ingredients, but hasn’t been baked quite right.

  • I’d had enough by the end and just couldn’t stomach it any more. I gorged for a bit on the first open world area and, though I was probably over greedy, it meant I became incredibly aware of the smoke and mirrors shit it was constantly pulling. Moment to moment it can feel incredible but as a single player experience it’s hot landing is incredibly obvious. Needed another year of polish or better devs.
  • I'm gonna wait until the campaigns co-op.
  • Thought I was coming for JonB's score on Demon's Tilt just now, had one ritual of one part of the table left, agonising. 617mil, doubled my previous best. Such game.
  • Buzzing now, there's clear daylight between me & Mrs. Moot (who still refuses to nudge the table with a stick flick).
  • Speaking of Demon’s Tilt, I just discovered today that Brunswick Centre by Russell Square has a pinball arcade!

There are also arcade games but sadly no vs fighters.
I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER.
  • There's a pinball place in Croydon too. I'm useless at the real thing though.
  • Do we have a Arceus thread ? So is it open world snd I just fast traveled ?

  • I did it! Got home from work and my wife was playing Demon's Tilt on her lunch break. Managed to break the billion barrier. So chuffed, this feels like my biggest gaming achievement for years.

1,093,515,722. Probably still behind @JonB but fair fucks to me, I stuck with something a got quite good at it. Got wizard mode for the first time and the three ball lock drops. Pinball buzz rn.

Dear me, I would love to have a proper arcade somewhere near me. Some shmup cabs, versus fighters, link up driving games.

And not a fucking UFO catcher or ticket machine in sight. Members only, link up events, proper score tracking.

    Sigh.

What cabs do they have, if you know? Always interested in hearing about arcades and enjoy a trip. Went to Las Vegas wardour st at the weekend for some bishi bashi. Always great.
  • I was forced to go to Bluewater recently and the arcade in the bowling alley wasn't a complete write off, unexpectedly.  Who knew there was a Tomb Raider light gun game out there with a 10ft screen, for example?  Certainly not me.

We’ve got Tilt in Brum. Three floors of tables and great IPA. Been a few times and not once played… but that beer sure is good.
  • They had a dancing one (not sure what its called), a few racing games inlcuding Mario Kart GP and possibly even a Daytona, and some UFO catcher machines.  Air hockey, those coin dropping gambling machines and some mini basketball ones, that sort of thing.  They seem popoular with kids parties.

  • Ah sounds pretty standard for modern arcades tbh. Las Vegas is the best in London that I've seen, reasonable selection of racers, gun games, fightmans and music games, with air hockey and grabbers thrown in.
  • I should pay them a visit. Wardour St, you say?

Mine was 1,252,055,162. That was the only time I got even close to a billion, and the last time I played it.

Aye wardour street, pretty much across from Ben & Jerry's. A bit before the Ann Summers.

There was an arcade in central London that was a shmup community meeting place. Think it was called Casino (Goodge St?). They used to swap PCBs out of cabinets regularly. Gone now. Was probably a dump but it sounded good fun.

Solid itinerary for a second date.

Yeah, Casino was a regular for me in my teenage years alongsde Trocadero.

Talking of Triocadero... Fun fact (not):  Picturehouse Central was converted from Trocadero Cineworld.  I did not know that!  Should've guessed.  Used to go to that Cineworld all the time when I was a graduate bum with my all-you-can-cinema card.

  • Alternating mainly between griftlands and thronebreaker this week.

Griftlands is great. Still more of a fan of negotiation mechanics as opposed to the battle mechanics, but there's still clearly a lot for me to unlock and learn. File next to banners of ruin, IMO. Super solid sts adjacent deckbuilder with a super impressive style and polish.

Thronebreaker still baffles me. I've learned some things, but some battles are still just a mystery. Compelling me to keep playing for now though.
I'm still great and you still love it.
  • Think I'm gonna jump into God of War properly. I've played it for a few hours but it's never gripped me, dunno why despite it being right up my street. I think maybe it's because I've never sat down and dedicated a night to it, just an hour here or there when I wasn't in the mood for it.

Rocket League is still a constant and my quick aerials and dribbling are getting better. I can feel myself improving and it's quite satisfying when you have a game and absolutely dominate it. Nowhere near the skillfull stuff yet though.

Probably because it is one of the most boring games I have ever had the misfortune to play. A button mashing bore-a-thon on PS2. Maybe it has improved - I bloody well hope so.

Never played any of them to be honest, I have heard the combat is far from a button mashing bore-a-thon though. This one's held in very high regard by all accounts Davy. I'm a sucker for a shiny cinematic action game, the one take thing is always impressive .
