Just had an update applied and now I can't login because the game failed to communicate with the authentication server, apparently. Thanks, auto update.
Dunno, i've only just started playing this in the last couple of weeks. No real idea what's going on in the game but that doesn't matter now as I can't get into it.
I can now get into it. Anyone else still playing this and does crossplay between PC and XBOX work? It would be great to spend some time with someone who knows what the fuck is going on.
Also, what's happened to SG? I thought he was all over this.
I have tomorrow 09:00 to 15:00 (mostly) off so if you're available I can explain how little I know. Apparently we can make ourselves into wings or something.
Anyone know how I can prevent Steam and Oculus from running whenever I run Elite? I don't even run Elite through Steam normally but now whenever I launch it Steam VR tries to open and then the Oculus app. I've removed the links to Elite in both platforms but they still open every time.
The opening mission on the planet ran like absolute shit, with a frame rate so low it was unplayable, and I'm thinking it might have been because vr was trying to run.
I accidentally discharged a laser in a no-fire zone and have been fined 100 credits. How do I pay this? Don't fancy getting blown to shit for such a trivial amount.
I have to say, from a godawful launch they've really improved things and now the planets are looking great. It's interesting to see how they're integrating the combat zones more into the normal game.
Previously it felt discombobulated, as if combat arenas and the normal Horizons experience were two different games. Now they're adding better ship integration for those who don't want to manual drop so you can fly into combat, as you would a base on any Horizons planet.
For all the criticism Frontier get, they are good at listening these days and the updates are coming thick and fast. Every new update provides a better experience and update 7 is due in a couple of weeks.
Just in time for the NMS release of the Frontier update I decided to kit out a Krait Phantom for a trip to Beagle Point. Perhaps by the time I get back, I'll be able to play PS4 Odyssey.
Yeah they've delayed it but haven't given a release date yet iirc. I guess it'll be a while. The good news is that they're really going some way to appease players after the initial fuck up, which admittedly was a biggie.
The new planetary tech is really starting to shine after initially making thinks look actually worse, performance is better and they now publish a todo list based on player feedback and requests.
