Started to make a list, got to about a dozen on the 3DS, realised there were at least another dozen and then gave up.

It would take me too long to do this list. Even ignoring Steam.
  • I'm just taking it one game at a time. The game is currently Carmageddon, which I probably shouldn't have bought because of all the other games and oh god this is how the cycle perpetuates.

I really need to get stuck into Dead Space Extraction, which I've started, and Dead Rising Chop Till You Drop on the Wii. Powering through Fire Emblem fates - 2 titles down (birthright and conquest) and one to go.

Top 3 there are Okamiden, Infinite Space and Trauma Centre. And Chrono if you've never experienced
  • I've still got Okami for the Wii in it's wrapper....I'm not sure i'm ever going to play it now, but it still deserves to be top of the pile.
after that it's mainly my steam library, and then my ps+ free game collection - which isn't that free since i pay the sub, 'buy' the free games each month and then never play any of them.

  • @Ed_Flanders, most of those DS games aren't worth it. Get rid. Listen to Reg. (Henry Hatsworth also worth a play.)

Oh go on then.  These are all physical games owned, which I've either not touched at all, or basically not touched.  This is excluding older consoles, and Steam / other PC - cos that would just start getting embarrassing, right?  It also excludes all console download games, including PS+ and paid for (of which, from the top of my head, Furi, Volume, (as of this evening) The Witness, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Invisible Inc, Gone Home, blahblahblah are all recent examples).

  • Sell a bunch of them and buy yourself something nice.

    Otherwise;
    Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
    Advance Wars: Dual Strike
    Kid Icarus: Uprising
    Fire Emblem: Awakening
Little Kings Story (totally ditch Monster Hunter Tri, they don't really sing until 10s/100s hours in)
    Bayonetta 2 (Maybe W101 but I don't have it)
DMC/DMC 3 (lower case M is the modern version)
    Shadow of the Colossus
    Okami

That's the old stuff curated for you. Anything that is an RPG or longer than Okami you should bin, because when on earth are you going to ever get the time to play any of it? You could probably finance a weekend trip to Berlin or Paris if you sold most of that.
  • A lot of that PS3 list isn't worth the time or effort. Get rid of shit like Fallout 3 for example. You can realllly trim your POS down. I have.
I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER.
  • Bayonetta, Dead Space, Vanquish, Siren, Bioshock 2 - probably Yakuza but you might as well wait for Zero.
  • Thanks for the tips. I'm currently playing Dragon Quest Monsters, but I'm definitely playing Okamiden and Infinite Space next.
I know the rest of the games are third tier or second tier at best, but I intend to play them all.

3DS LIST - starfox should be done in 40 minutes, then finish Mario 3D land.

Kid icarus / fire emblem / luigis mansion 2 are your top 3 there.
  • Accept defeat with Ghost Recon on 3DS Muzzy.  Fantastic game, one of the best of its kind for me, but hoping to whittle down multiple 25-30hr turn based tactics titles is over ambitious.  Play Awakening and go deep.

G Police is 'of its time', played it again recently so you don't have to.  Stick with the memories if you have them.

Cheers chaps - will try to be a bit more focused!!
  • The first thing you should play is Vanquish. Not only is it one of the best games on your list, it doesn't take that long to go through.

Sell Destiny and come in again on the new one if you want to. I love t, but it's a time sink and if you want to plough through other games, get shot if it.

Also, excludes older consoles, goes back to a console released over 2 decades ago.
  • That list of PS2 games is absolutely essential. Start with that.
I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER.
  • Maybe just cut your losses with all non-current consoles and start again with a clean slate - new games only. There are some classic games there of course, but you barely have time to play the best of the PS4 games, so fuck it. MGS V, Bayo 2 and Invisible Inc. alone are as good as anything else, and if you play the older games you won't have time for those. Something's got to give.
  • Sound advice.  I regularly go retro, but find games from between 1995ish and 2005ish a bit of a struggle to play properly as things have progressed so much.  I find it harder to forgive unforgiving 3D games (unless they're slight/arcadey) when there's usually a better example of the genre from more recent times.
