Have you a source for that?poprock wrote:The estimated cost of Brexit so far has surpassed all EC/EU funding, investment, etc the UK has received in total since joining ~45 years ago.
People may be able to donate money towards the cost of making Big Ben chime when the UK leaves the EU, Boris Johnson has said.

What I can dig out quickly makes it feel unlikely, actually.
Bloomberg put the cost of Brexit to date at £130bn and project it to reach £200bn during this year.
I can’t find simple totals for historic EU funding, best I can do quickly is that we received ~£51bn between 2014 and the end of 2020, counting only actual funding and not loans. That’s from the House of Commons Research Briefings.
My cynical take is someone made up the slogan and thought it was so good they'll say Big Ben can't be rung just to use it...and prob blame the EU for it too somehow.Tempy wrote:Bung a bing a bob a big a ben a bong
