Nusfjord is EXCELLENT - got that at Essen 2017 and it's my favourite Uwe game (possibly helps we are good friends with the person who did the original German-English translation for Agricola)

I am super keen to try Clank Legacy, because I really like the Acq Inc theme.
If you like Grand Austria I highly recommend Marco Polo, I think you'd enjoy it.

Coffee Roaster I really want to pick up a copy of too - even though I don't normally do much solo gaming.

I will post a picture of our game shelves when it's not gone 1am here :P

I put Coffee Roaster on my wish list as it's always on best solo game lists, and I do like a solo now and then. Plus it seems to be the only Saashi game you can actually get in this country or Europe for that matter.

I absolutely love Clank so Legacy was a no brainer as it can be used as an expansion once you're done too. It's fantastic so far.

I normally hate deckbuilders (thanks to a really bad time being taught Dominion where the person teaching just chose the cards he wanted to use to make mega combos and proceeded to do so and pretty much cycle through his entire deck in a turn. It wasn't fun) so I haven't played the original Clank, but the theme makes me want to try the Legacy version.
  • Got a few games for Christmas this year, haven't touched Patchwork yet but enjoyed Hey! That's My Fish as a three and had really good rounds of Decrypto with the whole family. Would certainly recommend as one to pick up...once the concept's grasped everyone enjoyed attempting to crack codes and make up their own.

Game three of Clank Legacy done. It's just fantastic. It vomits content at you, and the personalised game you'll have at the end will be great. There's already a bunch of new rules and bits and bobs added on from normal Clank, but none of it overwhelming.

One of my favourite things so far isn't even gameplay related.
    Spoiler:

My favourite game just got 10 times better. Great stuff.
  • Still feeling kinda rough and not up to fine detail work, so just been slapping on the base layers for my first chubby ex-blightlord terminator. You can see some imperfections in the shape of his tum now that the paint is on, but I'm not gonna worry about it, plus this was the first guy I did, I think the other 2 guys and Felthius have come out a bit better with the repetition. Obvs these layers need neatening up before the shading/washes go on, dude is very much WIP.

  • I bought know no fear after Tempys recommendation and started to paint the poxwalkers.

These were fun to paint because I just mostly splogged it on and it's easy to cover mistakes.
  • I love the gore on those grotty boys! What did you use for them?
"Let me tell you, when yung Rouj had his Senna and Mansell Scalextric, Frank was the goddamn Professor X of F1."
  • Athonian camoshade for the skin, screamer pink for the tentacles and then blood for the blood god's liberally applied for the gore.

  • You're picture isn't working for me Rouj.

  • Pandemic Legacy is fucking great. Not finished the campaign yet. Myself and wifey had to leave it aside as it got too stressful.
I just had Gloomhaven delivered today. Looking forward to that.

ALERT: The new Sigmar mag is out now. I picked up 4 copies lol.

  • Rouj - dark brown on those growths, and then brown/black washes thinned with contrast medium over the cream/other details, and you could call that model done (bar the metal and smoke and flame). Base coating is the hardest bit!

I painted a whole goliath gang over 4 days - not my best work but I'm really pleased with myself for just getting them done. I will post pictures later now that I've painted their base rims.

You’re in for a right treat with Gloomhaven, I got Cloudspire by Chip Theory Games ( they did Too Many Bones and Hoplomachus) and 7th Continent Classic Edition for Xmas and was going to start it tonight but I’m knackered, really wanted to play as well.

If anyone’s interested you can get the Classic edition of 7th Continent for £60 from Serious Phoulps website, it’s not the same version as the Kickstarter version, it’s minus a curse and some Kickstarter exclusives.

  • Bit surprising but there’s supposedly big lay offs at Fantasy Flight Games and Asmodee, I imagine Asmodee tried to take too much on and it’s bit them on the ass.

The pic doesnt pick it up but the horns/bone spikes/growths are dark brawn already, going to try and highlight them up to go from dark brown at the base to quite bleached at the tips.

I'm basically going to paint it the same way I've been painting my other guys, I don't have much experience with contrast paints yet, so I'm just following the normal shade/wash for recesses and then edge highlighting on the armour. Will be a wile before he's finished though as I'm going to move back onto my finishing my termy captain that I've been putting off while I was ill over new year.

It's the weirder bits at FFG that are getting the layoffs, I imagine it's a typical streamline to concentrate on the areas that make money
  • LJgpJvJ_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium Pretty happy with these boys. Just glad to have them out of my to do list.

Poxwalkers done, onto marines this week. For some reason I'm nervous of doing the bases, any advice?
  • Texture paint! Don’t use good brushes. Coffee stirrers are good but I use a GW texture tool cos I am a branded slave (plus it seems to be the perfect size and pliability for the work)
whack a shade on, drybrush it up. Bingo.

Will be sending your stuff over when I am back from

Some good stuff on this page. Nice.

I've bought Dreadball. It's popular at club, and the league starts up again soon. Very different to Blood Bowl, and I think I might prefer it. Mainly because it doesn't take 400 hours to play a game. Will be painting it up this week.
  • I interviewed James Hewitt, one of the designers of Adeptus Titanicus, which was a lot of fun and resulted in a good piece I think.

Nice write up - it really makes me want to play the game. There's so much on my to do pile so I've got to resist.

Not sure if it's a board game so much, but we've been really enjoying Sherlock Holmes consulting detective game. We're on case 5 or 6 of the jack the ripper box, and they've been pretty consistently good so far.
  • For anyone who wants cheap Age of Sigmar mini’s GW are doing another magazine (last year was 40K) -

    https://www.warhammermortalrealms.com/

    3 sequitors
10 chain rasps and some dice in issue 1 for £2.99

    Bought 3 issues - bargain.

  • It’s a good deal (especially if you just buy the ones you want from Hachette or Forbidden Planet) but it’s not as good as the 40k one which had huge variety of units and terrain.
  • I know I'm relatively new to the hobby but I've got a top tip that could save some time for somebody. Try not to knock a bottle of blue shade over and spill half of it over your workspace, it's not completely disastrous but it might proceed to be a bit of a pain in the bum.
  • Pics or it didn't happen.
