Do Boardgames Dream of Miniature Porn?

I know I'm relatively new to the hobby but I've got a top tip that could save some time for somebody. Try not to knock a bottle of blue shade over and spill half of it over your workspace, it's not completely disastrous but it might proceed to be a bit of a pain in the bum.

Congratulations on completing the rite of passage. Fuck those shade bottles.

  • I've been transferring my paints over to dropper bottles to avoid just that - and to stop them drying up when they don't close properly. The best thing about the GW paint pots is that the stickers come off and can be reused.

    The base paints are THICK.
  • Yeah I've got a pot of ceramite white and it's almost unusable, you have to water it so far down to avoid it going chalky you might as well just be using White Scar.

I refer you learned folk to a friend of mine and a device to solve just such a problem:

    https://www.battlekiwi.com/product/paint-pot-holder/

I use Vallejo paints for most stuff but I still use GW washes. This is ideal
  • I'm really interested in trying out Vallejo stuff, going to have a look at that conversion chart as my leadbelcher and retributor gold will be running at some point in the future somehow, even though they get way less use than my bone and purple colours.

These look like a pretty cool idea.
  • Not sure what the vallejo metalics are like - I've heard that the liquid metal air paints are excellent.

Leadbelcher and retributor armour are in the absolute top tier gw paints, so no strong reason to go elsewhere for those colours.

The p3 white is amazing if you want a new white colour. It's quite thin and the bottle isn't great. Mine has dried up and I can't remember what coverage was like, but because it's a liquid pigment it wasn't chalky. I'm using white ink instead of paint at the moment. I've also got white oil paints which are good for large areas, but not something I'd generally use.

Vallejo black is easier to use than the gw black, but I don't like the finish as much.

I'm general the gw paints are really good, but the bottles are naff.
  • Teclis is on his way back, exciting times!

  • When will Fulgrim wake up, that's the real question here! I so sad. DADDY PLS WAKE UP!

Still, Teclis is cool though, looks like he's been visiting the museum of ornate kabuto decorations while he was gone.

For someone now totally out of the fantasy Warhams life, to what/whom has he come back to layeth the smack down upon?

  • The original Teclis miniature has not aged well.
  • Him and old Nagash are treasures to be cherished.

No one in particular, Chaos is on the rise as is Death as always, think Teclis is just bored now
  • There really aren't many Nagash size miniatures from the 90s that I think look great. In fact, the mid 90s miniatures in general haven't aged well.
  • Heathen! Those poor guys sculpted the life outta that stuff :D
  • I think the OG dwarves and chaos dwarves from old hammer were generally great as a range of minis and have stood the test of time, I think the old orcs and gobbos still retain a lot of character, but the advances in sculpting, mould making and materials are producing models that were just not possible/feasible back then.

  • That's a fair point - the dwarves were pretty cool. They really fit the style at the time.

I just got 29 Dreadball teams(Unused) and 30 Mvps (Unused), acrilyc tokens and neoprene mat for £30 on ebay.

    1. FUCKING YAY
    2. WHAT THE FUCK AM I GOING TO DO WITH 29 TEAMS? :D

I was nearly gonna buy one of the teams for £20 the other day.

    THIS IS THE BEST DAY.
  • What are you going to do with 29 teams? I'm not sure, but I'm guessing never paint them :)

Well, I'll paint some. I'm sure some people at club might want some of them.

BUT DO I WANT TO SELL THEM?

I might actually sell my Blood Bowl stuff tbh. Can't see me playing it again, and if I have the urge I can play it on Xbox.

Painting a few teams up over the past 3 days. Splodging a bit on here and there as I get chance. Super rushed jobs as I just want them on the table, so nowt special. They'll do.

Just need a few more bits on them and I can await the billion other teams incoming.

  • Very nice.

In GW news, I think Nu-Teclis is a bit whack but Eltharion is lit AF and the cav 'n' footman are both OG goodness.
  • That's a nice model.
  • How do he work? Where do he join? Glad I have a few bib saved up for these lads, but I hope the rest of the range is a bit more Teclis and Eltharion and a little less Spear And Horse
  • The floating bits are attached to the Cape/fabric.

    Nice.

    It'll only cost about £80.
  • I like Nu-Teclis.
  • I wish his pose was more like the art. Dig the sphinx thing though, like I say... more weirdness please
