For all the negativity surrounding Tapestry, I'm really liking how it plays, how the decisions work and it does look cracking on the table.

You can probably pick it up second hand I would think. There's a ton of expansions for it and I'm wondering how they rebalance and change the game.

I got Food Chain Magnate for Christmas so game night group is pretty much learning that atm. We're absolutely loving it so far, I think this is the way to play that game. Same people every time, same amount of experience. I'll probably miss this week though as I'm ill AGAIN

I love Splotter games - FCM has that typical Splotter thing of if you make the wrong decision on your first turn, you can basically fuck yourself for the entire game

I did a vintage unnecessary bunch of purchases just now. Just got paid. 4 hours to kill between tourney Bball games and I'm 15 minutes from gameology. What was gonna happen?

Scout, Perspectives and Anachrony purchased.

Liked the look of anachrony for a while and I'm sure I've been reminded twice in this thread that someone loves it.

Scout is a su&sd rec and a simple in principle card game. No brainer for me.

Perspectives is a straight up gamble, just looks interesting. And sherlock holmes and watching the latest people play games has me wanting mysteries. (vid is well worth a watch, fyi.)

Aye. The honourable mentions were ones that either didn't quite make the list or didn't really count as releases this year. Didn't stop Luke adding all types of games.

Nurgle is my favourite Chaos god, so I’m vetoing that. I dig Putin as the Warmaster though, that makes a sad amount of sense.

I think normally you'd think of America as the imperium but at this point I think they fit the Orks. They love their fast red cars and doesn't take much to assemble them for a Waaaaaagh/ "peace and democracy campaign"

I was happy with my choices, but I also have a lot more freedom than the Eavy Metal team do for box art, which has to tine into a whole range and consider the implications for future releases and so on. Connor's rendering on the skin for the box art version is next level though, some especially apparent on the face.

Managed to play Scythe last night. It's actually not as complicated as I remember. Had a really good time planning the strategies. I have all the expansions so tempted to break them out next time
