  • B&M do reasonably priced frames from time to time. They had vinyl display frames for £3 each recently.
  • Wilko for me also, although I got my vinyl frames from Tiger.
  • Oh
    Actually, check eBay.
Quite often you get sellers who do a huge range of sizes for this kind of thing.

    Hopefully this link works.

I think £30 is about average for anywhere other than Ikea/BnM/home base for a frame that size.
  • I’m worried this is a stupid question, but I’ve tried looking elsewhere on the internet, and I’m not getting any clear answers.

Can dogs see the kind of light (not sure if it’s infrared or what) emitted by home CCTV cameras, that allow them to capture footage in the dark? I’ve been considering getting a camera for my living room so that I can keep an eye on the dog as she’s approaching her senior years, but I’m worried that these things are effectively flooding the room with light (from the dog’s point of view) which could affect the quality of her sleep.

Can your dog sleep during the day? If the answer is yes don't worry about it. The small amount of light emitted from a cctv camera won't effect them. Dogs have much better low light vision than humans, but I'm not aware that they can see colour particularly well. I've read that they can't actually see red well at all. I'm sure she would be fine.
  • Aye, dogs have fewer colour receptors on their corneas – and the ones they do have specialise in blue/yellow rather than red/green. In a sort of trade-off, they have more light/dark receptors than we do – so they see better in the dark.

Sounds like a trial and error job to me, I've seen dogs and cats take a doze in full daylight, as well as at night. They'rre both naturally dawn and dusk creatures, crepascular is it?, I'd say do it for your peace of mind, if little fella objects they'll make it clear to you, if they don't then all you do is react to what you see. Maybe the furry little fucker doesn;t want his light responsivity assumed??

edit1: what poppo says, dogs have more rods than cones which gives better low light vision, however that has nothing to do with IR light, just that colours don;t interfere with contrast

What ever happened with Michael Pachter? I remember from like 2010-13 he was the go to guy for industry "predictions" and bullshit, and thought with new consoles coming he would be back in the scene.

Has he been usurped by Dr Serkan Toto?
  • He does still seem to be out there tilting at windmills, but I guess that by and large his audience has moved on.

  • Need some Excel/Google Sheets help.

If I want to add some numbers together from different worksheets, but the position of the cells I'm adding up may change as the list gets longer, or a particular number increases and moves up the list, how would I do that?

Can you explain how the cells are moving / how you would know which to add up? If you were doing it by hand, what steps would you take?

Vlookup sounds like it could help, but as muzzy says, more detail required.
  • List of world champions across different belts. Each worksheet has a list of each champion, with the number of times held, ordered by most wins

When someone new wins the belt, they are added to the list, and more wins moves them up the list.

By hand I just look up each name, and add together the number for each belt. On longer lists I might re-order it to alphabetical to find them easier, but I'd put it back after.

And what each name may or may not be on each sheet? And you want the total for each name across all sheets? And it's columns B & C on each sheet?

    If you do like

    Sumif(sheet1!B:B,name,sheet1!C:C) + sumif( sheet2!...) + ...

That should work out I think, with the name being a cell with the name in.

Not at computer so can't really do it fully. Happy to fix if you share a sheet...

I'd be inclined to store the data differently, that way it doesn't change, keep it transactional, that way yo can reference it easier going forwards, especially if you want to try other kinds of analysis on it, like you have total reigns which is probably less important than years they held a belt for
    +------------------+--------------------+----------+----------+
    | belt             | wrestler           | attained | unbeaten |
    +------------------+--------------------+----------+----------+
    | interconrinental | the rock           | 2005     | 0        |
    +------------------+--------------------+----------+----------+
    | royal rumble     | hacksaw jim duggan | 1988     | 1        |
    +------------------+--------------------+----------+----------+
    |                  |                    |          |          |

  • I'm trying to do some stuff in Excel and don't know how to do anything in Excel. Can anyone help me?

I'm trying to get a cell to show a particular letter or string of letters dependent on a percentage in a different cell - For example, if H5 is 80% or higher, the next cell will show S. I currently have this -

    =IF(H5>79,”S”,IF(H5>64,”W+”,IF(H5>49,”W”,IF(H5>34,”B+”,”B”))))

I have also tried using 79% etc. which doesn't work either. This all may be miles off as I'm simply ripping code and modifying it to try and get what I want. It just comes up with #noname?.

HALP ME PLZ! I've never used Excel before.
  • What are the actual values stored in the cells you’re referencing? If they’re displayed as percentages you might need to change your formula to e.g 0.79 instead of 79.

    =IF(D2>89,"A",IF(D2>79,"B",IF(D2>69,"C",IF(D2>59,"D","F"))))

This complex nested IF statement follows a straightforward logic:

If the Test Score (in cell D2) is greater than 89, then the student gets an A

If the Test Score is greater than 79, then the student gets a B

If the Test Score is greater than 69, then the student gets a C

If the Test Score is greater than 59, then the student gets a D

Otherwise the student gets an F

Edit - copied directly from the Microsoft website.

Just tried that. No dice. Good idea. Values are percentages generated by previous cells. But, now I think about it, maybe that is the cause? Percentages are generated by previous cells scored 0,1,2 and then a percentage is calculated from the total possible (9/12 = 75% etc).

Goobs: That's what I have modified.... Hmm.

Stay with just the first IF and debug from there.. ie IF(H5>79%,"S","X"). And build from there.
  • Getting there...

Will have to finish tonight. Cheers all!
  • =IF(H5>0.79,"S",IF(H5>0.59,"W+",IF(H5>0.49,"W",IF(H5>0.29,"B+","B"))))

    Did the trick! Thanks all!

The correct answer is actually to use vlookup (which will round for you).
