Got chance to play through the tutorial and it's really unlike anything I've played in VR before. Oddly, especially for a low budget VR early access game, it has the most realistic ocean I've ever seen in a game. The waves are just spot on.
And if you get time head close to that platform you're meant to target before blowing it up and have a butchers on deck. I thought they might cheat and use sprites but those things are impressive close up.
This is quality btw. Just having a 15 min refreshment break, drinks. There's something breifly unnerving about being in such close proximity on a sub. and I genuinely was concerned for a good few seconds I must stink of booze. I lost a hand because the one controller died so Tom had to mount the gun and I was on steering duties. It's amazing how much just seeing a head and two hands conveys the feeling of an entire person being there.
It really was, 4 hrs went by like that. I've always played VR by myself and didn't quite appreciate how much fun it could be playing with a fellow Badger and meeting Americans on the way. It genuinely felt like we'd met up for a drink. I'm hugely impressed with this VR social thing.
Really enjoyed last night, my first time trying social VR and it was good fun. Also the longest time I've spent using the Vive in one session, I feel a bit spaced out this morning.
It was so much fun although I'm slightly hungover today. Dancing in VR is a thing. I didn't realise how powerful the social aspect could be and I've spent a lot of this morning thinking about it. It felt more like a mini Badgerstock when we were in the Sports Bar. If you're back in time for a session on Sunday night let me know. Ironwolf awaits.
