Weird Stuff (tinfoil hat wearing goons only, please)
  • Good day fellow curious gentlemen.
Ill need to word this carefully. But what are we making of the mainstream media in the US of A these days?

Id like to say that I dont lean in any particular direction politically, Biden and Trump are just two old men. One with the skintone of that bloke from the Tangerine ad. I would also like to add that I have some unique experience of being in possession of facts that were suppressed and are still being suppressed and ignored to this day. Ive seen first hand, people refusing to read evidence that was presented in court (the case was won), instead preferring to accept the word of the opposition because it meant they could stick their heads in the sand and carry on. It amazed me at the time that such evidence and articles appearing in national newspapers backing us up were just ignored.

And so I have been listening to a bit of ol Ben Shapiro and Tim Pool lately due to a dearth of interesting podcasts. (Though Mysterious Universe is awesome as always)
Now neither of these blokes (especially Ben "I hate the WAP" Shapiro) strike me as particularly conspiratorial but what they have been calling out in the media is rather....interesting and reminiscent of the case I mentioned earlier. Correct me if Im wrong but Biden's son's laptop,( according to the likes of Shapiro at least) the information has been verified as being authentic yet the mainstream media refuse to ask serious questions about it. Had the laptop been released by Biden against Trump I think its pretty obvious how the media would have reacted.

Considering the general atmosphere out there, I would again like to clarify that Im not pro Trump, Im not anti-Trump either, Ive not read up enough about him to form an opinion. But what I am curious about is the apparent easy ride the democrats are getting in the media. For example that Glenn Greenwald fella resigning from his own website when it censored him ( I think he wrote about the Biden laptop).
Im sure many of you guys are much better informed than I am. Do you think are Ben Shapiro and Tim Pool correct that RussiaGate was an illegal investigation by the democrats that resulted in no evidence against Trump? Can the mainstream media and the likes of Facebook and Twitter be trusted anymore?
Also, the democrats clearly have pulled out all the stops to get Trump out and have been desperate to get Trump out. Is he really that bad? Or is there another reason they want him out?

Im asking here because Im sure if I even ask this in the politics thread Ill get labelled a moronic, alt right fascist, women-hating nazi racist :D

Ive not worded this quite right...I dont have time. I may later.

  • ...And so I have been listening to a bit of ol Ben Shapiro ...
Let me stop you right there.
  • I think Shapiro and Pool are grifters that have about as much credibility as Jones, Cernovich and Posobiec.

Can’t help you much beyond that, other than pointing out they’re routinely proven to fake shit for clicks, and be gish galloping morons. Stay safe out there, maybe watch some stuff on the opposite side of the divide before you get too deep.

    No.

Can the mainstream media and the likes of Facebook and Twitter be trusted anymore?
They can never be blindly trusted and never should have been. Nothing has changed. Use your standard-issue bullshit detector.

Also, the democrats clearly have pulled out all the stops to get Trump out and have been desperate to get Trump out. Is he really that bad?
Yes, his is really that bad.

Or is there another reason they want him out?
Ah, here’s the rub. You think there’s some secret reason ‘they’ (who are ‘they’, by the way, in this context?) want rid of Trump. Because a conspiracy would make more sense than basic human decency. Wanting to democratically oust a dangerous, unstable narcissist from the highest position of power in the world isn’t enough?

Okay. I suggest that you stop dancing around it and share your conspiracy theory with us.

Hunter Biden took his personal laptop (with a Biden sticker on it), containing highly sensitive data - all on the desktop, not even hidden, some of which was evidence of Democrat meddling and according to Alex Jones kiddy porn too, to a small computer shop run by a huge Trump fan, told the guy his real name and gave his real email address, and left the laptop there to have data retrieved. He then left and never returned. Sounds legit alright.

For balance, Glen Greenwald, Edward Snowden's favourite journalist, did resign from whatever media outlet it was, because his investigation into Hunter Biden was supressed*. He's as legit, and left leaning as it gets. So even if you ignore whichever source you hate (I don't have a clue who 'Shapiro' is), then you still have more work to do to dispel Greenwald's work.

As for the investigation into Trump, I have my own ideas, as I'm sure everyone else does, about how he got there, but the courts cleared him.
That said, the fact that Trump is an arse and a racist, for me, is probably enough to warrant all enmity directed towards him.

    * Basically, he was using his father's name to coax business contracts out of shady multinationals. There are questions there, and it does represent a compromising conflict of interest. No worse than a mere percentage of the shit that surrounds Trump, however.

No of course never blindy trust media, its just a question of how much trust (if any) to put in them.

The they want him out bit was for laffs, we are in a conspiracy thread.

I don't have a theory, I'm basically seeing two polar opposite views and my personal experience has primed me to view stuff like Russiagate in a different light. Ie facts(according to shapiro etc)  show it was bullshit but the popular majority ignore and claim its real. Again I don't know what is true or not. Correct me if Im wrong but this Russiagate stuff, but Trump wasn't found guilty of anything?  Or are there questions about the courts decision?

The story goes though about Hunter Biden that Joe was getting a cut.

@Tempy wow so Poole and Shapiro are of a level with Alex Jones? If true they hide it nicely. Ive not heard them mention lizard people once. In seriousness though why put them on that level?

  • I didn’t say they were people who believed in lizard people, I said they were grifters with very little credibility. I think you can find a lot of evidence for that without needing any hand holding.

Jones is a grifter. Regardless of what he believes in he’s a guy who has identified a market and is milking it dry by sticking to a rhetoric that gets him paid.

The always amusing anecdote about Shapiro is that he once suggested that land loss due to global warming was not an issue because the people losing their costal properties to flooding could simply sell them.

    To who?

Edit: When I am not working I might find some of the many videos that analyse stuff that Shapiro and Pool have done. The main one that comes to mind with Pool is when he went to one of those Swedish “no go” zones and breathless went on about how dangerous and scary it was, but the second anyone did any serious analysis of it all it just fell apart like everything else these grifters do. They have a conclusion they want to portray and they’ll do and say anything to contort their arguments to support it and obfuscate the facts.
  • Watch the video I posted for an answer to that question. Edit - at Superfly, although the selling houses thing does come up in the video

Trump was aquitted by a partisan Senate, not a court. The Muller report essentially said "I can't prosecute him for the sole reason that he's the President, but if he weren't the President I would."

With Hunter Biden, there are enough holes in the laptop story that we could market it as a new English cheese, but regardless, the most it could manage is to make Hunter Biden look Dodgy, and didn't tie anything to Joe.

yep that lizard people thing was meant in lighthearted..ness.
    Wow that shoreline stuff lol.
I gave up following politics a long time ago. Not looking for hand holding just seeing what the general feeling out there is. Im at a point where I might be interested to jump in and see whats what for myself but....it sounds like a giant rabbit hole. I think Ill get back to watching Blender tutorials.

It's easy to be beguiled by people like that when they speak well.

Often one may agree with one or two points they make (though perhaps not what one should imply from them or what any implementation of them as policy would entail) and that can make you give credence to their more extreme views because they can skillfully plot a reasoned path.

Shapiro's rapid fire delivery can make him appear more persuasive too. A blend of statistics and an apparent logical conclusion can be compelling. Proceed with caution.

Re lizards. I find David Icke really rather interesting. I am sympathetic to his suspicions of who is in charge and how the media can imprint a set of beliefs. That is quiet interesting, as are his propositions of how layers of perception can easily blind us to truths.

He then somehow makes perceptual leaps to world leaders being multi-dimensional beings that drink children's blood - the image of the Queen Mother as an ancient malignant albino creature is bizarre to say the least. If he really does believe that I wonder how he sleeps at night.

Wait. I'm basing my doubt in Biden on this article - https://greenwald.substack.com/p/article-on-joe-and-hunter-biden-censored
Though, I'm not unhappy that he's won.

But why exactly do you consider the Hunter Biden story to be insubstantial?

I'd like all public officials held up to a certain moral standard. Not just the ones I hate.

Alex Jones was on Rogan again just before the elections. His idea was that Trump would win but that then the Democrats would use every legal process they could to try and take that away, miring the country in a hellish state of confusion until the inauguration in January. It seems to have passed him by that it's been exactly the reverse and he's moved on to the election fraud theory without comment. Which is a general thing with conspiracy types- whatever fits in the moment, then discard and move on, towards whatever is your preconceived finale.

All I can say, is that the worst stories we had from Obama vs Romney, was a dead dog, and a birth certificate, iirc.
If a politician is honest enough, then certain tactics just won't work.

Hillary Clinton fucked up too. It was just a shame for us all, that it was in favour of Trump.

That's a longstanding problem that I doubt will be solved in our lifetime.
But what I was hoping, was to make a case for introducing some kind mechanism to scare most politicians out of doing so.

Anything is more palatable to me right now, than the cult like shit we're currently subjected to, where people will blatantly ignore one side or the other, and claim it's sensible to do so.
