I gather from Digital Foundry it's meant to be not too shabby on the SeS. Certainly better than the base consoles.

They tested it in this vid. Bear in mind it's pre-the last couple of patches, so if anything it should better now.

Not expecting all the shines and am expecting some glitches but as long as it isnt the last gen dumpster fire I'm in.

I'd be surprised if it didn't run well at 1080p. Same processor, same graphics card, slightly less ram on grafx and unit.

Probably will get more optimised though.

Interesting that Series S seems to actually be delivering the most predictable results.
"Yeah its fine" to quote DF guy. Pretty much sums up the console and suits me.

DF seem to think it is a down rezed version of the SX Quality Mode. That sounds about what I would want.
So you are getting all the nice things like AO and volumetric but just at 1080p.

So having kept an eye on this thread and watching the DF videos for a while I’ve decided I don’t want to play this in its current state on PS5. I thought I would play it through once as one character then once as another but I don’t think I will play it twice so I want to play it in its best light. I’ve submitted my refund to Sony. Who knows if they’ll honour it, but this can wait until it’s properly updated for the next gen consoles.

Watching that video G posted yesterday PS5 certainly seemed the least appealing option to me.
Best performance but stripped back heavily like the old gen versions.
Series X is probably the best console for it as you have the choice. Series S most predictable but also least likely to show significant improvements when the update comes out.

@b0r1s I'm playing with a 2070 super in 1080 with RTX, maxed at 60 fps on laptop.

Looks and plays great. But I hear ya, if you want the big experience.

Early opinions.

I have seen various folks here and elsewhere a bit disappointed that this isn't an rpg but more an action shooter.
I had prepared myself somewhat for that but clearly not enough.

Why even bother suggesting the notion of picking a start point when seemingly it just selects the building you leave?

Combat is just shoots as well. No point doing anything else.

Its fine. If presented as what it is I wouldnt care but there are serious emperor's new cloths no man's sky vibes early on.

Doesn't mean it is/will he a bad game but why bother lying?

Also the character i spent 20 minutes making looked fuck all like the person in the mirror to the point I thought it was someone else.

Managed to get a refund on this.
If you enjoy it have at it, I'm not into chip pissing but for myself it felt like a janky generic shooter that should have been released 5 years ago to recieve a [8].

Couldn't rate it in 2020 because life is too short.

If you think this is better than GTAV that was released two gens and over 7 years ago you are nuts.

I suppose it invites comparisons to GTA with the open world and seems inferior in that respect. But where it counts, in the characters, writing and mission design, CP is streets ahead.

As for the action, you're certainly kind of forced early on into shooting, but after the first couple of hours you can specialise away from that. You can play most of the game without shooting at all, if you want.

I saw the title card last night lol. Part of me thinks they should've kept you on rails until after that bit, then let you loose on the world.

@Liv - I barely fire a weapon anymore, all about the quick hacks into people, hacking cameras and taking out everyone I can see, distracting enemies to sneak up on them, that sort of stuff.
