Raiziel's Skyrim thread
  • Feels a bit like cheating might go back to previous save get companion and that's that.newish to this kind of game so sometimes I get a bit lost. Loving it though. Or simply wait and level up a lot more
    Peter3C
  • Buffing and scrolls deffo aren't cheating .. the combat is fairly simple but there's lots of scope for changing up tactics on the fly.

    Oh and quicksave lots.
    The Forum Herald™
  • Going back to previous save have to play it right way.just bit off a bit more than I could chew...
    Peter3C
  • Must remember to always stock up on health potions, feckin apples are useless when surrounded by the undead
    Peter3C
  • Deffo invest a few points in restoration , I think the second or third skill point halves the amount of mp used making it much more viable. Plus you get xp from using it.

    Cheers, will do

  • When a weapon is enchanted and the charges run out how do I recharge it or is it even possible to do that?
    Peter3C
  • Yes. Press r1 while looking at it in the inventory and it'll give you a choice of soul gems in your inventory With which to refill it.

It's possible to enchant weapons to capture souls too but if you pick up every soul gem you see you'll be ok
    The Forum Herald™
  • Stupid question when an enchanted weapon runs out of charges how do I replenish it? Plus I haven't found any new stuff to disenchant in ages, is it simply a question of exploration? As always advice appreciated...
    Peter3C
  • Sorry for repeat of question didn't think I'd posted it...
    Peter3C
  • Tips for second part welcome
    Peter3C
  • If you're getting disenchanted with Skyrim, ask yourself 'Am I playing the finest iteration of the Gamebryo engine available?' The answer is of course 'No'. Take a break from from this half-baked remaster and go play Fallout 4 instead.
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map
  • Yeah I've not found much new to disenchant for a while but exploration is the key, even during quests many items are hidden off the beaten track, plus I haven't really gotten into the dwarven dungeons yet

Sorry but this is now an obsession and the only break from it is bf1 and a little titanfall. I'll grab goty of fallout when it hits....

Then ask yourself am playing the iteration that's been rather dumbed down, doesn't have the best quests, has very samey dungeons and doesn't reward me for actually doing things. Then pack fallout 4 away and get stuck back into skyrim which actually looks better too.
    The Forum Herald™
  • Half those complaints could be leveled at Skyrim, too. At least Fallout has VATS, so you don't have to bother with the janky-ass combat quite so often. I prefer Skyrim, too, but they're both a bit shit.

Also Skyrim is running a marginally newer version of the engine.
  • I enjoyed fallout 4 at the time but the voice acting ruined conversation, the power armour ruined the game and the main quest was rubbish. Also the side quests where pretty rubbish.
    The Forum Herald™
  • I've mainly been building a cool looking base, so far. How does the power armour ruin it? I quite like having a limited use tank in my garage. A red tank with black flames up it, at that.
  • For me many reasons,

Mostly I stealth build so it doesn't really suit,

I'd rather spend my time exploring not resource managing to get the most out of it.

You get it to early and there's too many knocking about.

I hate limited resources. I ended up saving it in case I needed it and used it maybe twice to tackle a couple of optional areas which lended themselves to tanking, it was much better in 3 when it came near the end.

I didn't like the hud for it.

  • Ok please tell me it's possible to kill malkoran on my own or else I've just wasted an hour...

I just want another 2.5d Fallout and I'd be happy. Not with polygons either but with proper sprites.

Welcome to Borishall, a modest Thane's residence just outside Falkreath. Just missing the horse and carriage and a few items inside. I really should get back to playing this game instead of treating it like The Sims.

Just outside the main entrance we have a fully working smith, garden, apiary and animal pen.

Inside the regal entrance we have plenty of space to display exotic weapons and trinkets found by any resourceful adventurer.

The double height main hall gives the impression of vast space, with it's exotic chandelier hanging from the second floor.

The second floor if home to an enchanting table for those with the craft to make use it and a double and twin guest room for visiting friends and family.

For the bibliophile we have a wide range of books from across Skyrim and beyond. Be careful with those Spell tomes.

The luxurious master suite is everything a thane could want, situated next to the as yet to be used trophy room. A cellar also has room for training equipment for warriors.

Lastly, for those of you who like the outdoors life, there is a well equipped deck area for those summer parties.

  • I hope they expand on building in the next Elder Scrolls; that fucker looks almost identical to my house. Fallout was a lot more interesting when it came to the construction.

Yeah your only choices are types of rooms to add around the outside. Then obviously the crap you throw in them. Enjoying it though.

Your the kind of fucker that's ruining games.

  • Only when I'm stoned. I didn't touch the construction before and haven't since.
