Super Metroid.

Just defeated Crocomire (think that's it's name) and got a new skill.

Spoiler:

Does anyone still remember the trick to using that? Can't get the hang of it, need to get through a room with some water, not too long after I got my new skill. I'll try again later, but my thumb still hurts from charge beaming Crocomire. I've never learned how to hold B and A at the same time as a kid (hold to charge, then jump to shoot).

Still love his this is pixeled, great art style.

Use L and R button for aiming diagonally when using the grapple hook. Should make swinging across chasms easier. Running while jumping and chargefiring is tricky, a bit like running and jumping in Mario. Essential joypad skill tho.

I'm playing this myself via Wii U, but I'm using a guide as I'd just like to see it all. Haven't got to your bit yet unfortunately so can't help you out.

@Matty, just after you've found your power up, you go up and to the right. There's this room with water at the bottom.

I'm not using a guide but I do look things up if I get stuck, have the feeling that you can explore the whole map once you're near the end, was thinking of doing using a guide by then to pick up missed energy tanks etc.

there are 3 blocks you can grapple onto, I do manage that, but haven't figured out how to let go and do the biggest possible jump. Do I need to go to the most right block first? Can I lower myself so I can make a bigger swing? I've not made the jump yet. Do I need to be pushing up when going from grapple block to grapple block?

Yeah you can lower yourself down and swing back and forth, so that should give you enough distance to make the jump
