I thought they were going to have the balls to go for an ending that basically said that the game of thrones will never end, that absolute power corrupts absolutely. We could’ve had one mad queen ruling with fear replaced by another. We could’ve had the lords that are left descending into another squabble about who the rightful heir is. They decided not to take that route, but hadn’t left themselves enough time or space for an uplifting ending. Instead, we’re left with a rather limp non-ending. I mean, first of all, we’ve got the shittest character in the whole series becoming king. How the fuck did they think that was satisfactory? Bran’s story should be interesting, but unfortunately ten years ago they cast a boy who couldn’t act. He’s such a vacuum, he’s sucked the life out of that character. Then we’ve got Sansa who, for a while, looked like she was going to be a good character, but ultimately ended back where she started; a spoilt kid who strops if she doesn’t get what she wants. I thought for a second she was going to save us from the insanity (or should that just be inanity) of a King Bran but, no, her little show of defiance was just that she wants her own bit of power. And she gets it because the king is her brother, and nobody bats an eyelid or says, “Well, (place-name) was a separate Kingdom too, so I’ll have me some of that crown action while it’s going.” Meanwhile, tatty-bye John Snow. Grey Worm’s having a sulk so major, we’re doing what he wants even though he’s fucking off and will never know if you actually are in the Night Watch anyway. Meanwhile, Arya’s sailing off to colonise the West Essies  or whatever. But it’s all fine because we’ve made some jokes about how awkward everyone is now that the war is over.

it all pretty much wrapped up the way I expected it to. Always had my money on Jon ending up north of the wall with Tormund and Ghost.
