You can always trust the WWE to fuck everything up though. It turned out that the reason there was so much confusion about what the main event was going to be was because neither match that people presumed to be the main event actually was.

It was all about Taker putting Reigns over then retiring...only I'm not convinced that it worked. Reigns is going to have to do a lot of shouting to capitalise on the win, because really what he needed to do was absolutely bury Taker, and he didn't.

So ultimately Wrestlemania 33 will be remembered for Taker's farewell. WWE gave him a fantastic (and well deserved) post-match send off, but it should have happened years ago when Lesnar broke the streak. Everything he's done since has been pointless. Still, it was a poignant end to an illustrious career, and provided pretty much the only "wrestlemania moment" of the night.

His hat coat and gloves remained in the ring long after everyone had gone and the tear-down was in progress.

Which I guess starts the road to Wrestlemania 34 with a main event of Reigns v Lesnar. The two men who beat the dead man. They've still got a year to fuck this up though.

If you watch this week on week then the 5 hours is 3 hours of filler. Ring entrances and "The story so far..." made up most of the show. That was enjoyable for myself though.
The Cena stuff was laughable, shitty plug for a shitty reality show.
Thank god 'Taker has retired. He looked well past it in the Rumble and just as bad in this. That Last Ride was barely a hug. He is an old guy now and while it is amazing he can even do what he can it just looks a bit sad.
The first women's match was really good, they have come a really long way with them, well until the other one which was like the old shite.
They are never going to get anyone as good as The Rock again.
