Granted, the day one offering is very meagre, but I think that the subsequent pipeline shows that Nintendo have in fact learnt some lessons from the past.
Below is a list of Wii U release dates over the lifespan of the console:
Wii U - 18/11/2012
Mario 3D World - 23/11/2013
Mario Kart - 29/05/2014
Splatoon - 28/05/2015
Zelda - 03/03/2017
The Switch is getting some version of those four titles within 9 months of the console's release (barring any major delays) and I'm sure there'll be more shown at e3.
Doesn't this show a commitment to more regular and timely 'tent pole' releases that the Wii U sadly never received?
