There'll be a border. It's inevitable now.

I guess NI can have a referendum and fuck off out of the Union if they want? No chance of the UK staying in the single market. Unless we get a new government.
If not for the DUP deal, the Tories would probably fudge it and keep NI in the customs union and single market, moving the border back while pretending they weren’t. If they try that though, the DUP will bring them down. If they impose a hard border in Ireland, everything’s fucked and the whole thing collapses that way. Can’t see how they can solve it.acemuzzy wrote:I think the only answer is a tory climbdown (of one sort or another). So, fingers crossed...
The govt doesn’t want one and will be brought down from within if it tries. The Labour leadership doesn’t seem to want one (but that might change). If it comes from the Tories, it will be a chaos as they change PM and probably get a harder Brexiter in. If it comes from Labour, it’s going to be all ‘betraying the people’, Sun Mail headlines erupting poison everywhere, Farage lapping it up. Grim.Diluted Dante wrote:Why?
