I'm attempting 3 miles tonight and if I can't manage it officially throwing in the towel on running. Swimming and cycling all the way.

Fills me with confidence for October's full Marathon!

I've tried the gym, but that was full of retired people, veterans and spoiled stay at home moms. I've took some notes that going down the botox route isn't worth it, specially when you're in your sport outfit and the rest of your body looks like it belongs to a different person.
There was one friendly guy who only said things like "enjoy your workout" and that's it. All the other people just kept trying to have meaningless conversations. I don't really care about your German au pair.
Having someone call me out at the Walmart parking lot for not being at the gym for a while made me decide to give that one up.
There are probably better gyms but I can't afford them.
Swimming has been ok, I need to get back this week, haven't gone for a while thanks to Europe trip and some kind of ear infection after that. Got called out at a traffic light this time for not being there for a while. I don't even recognize these people!
Joined OCParks for volunteer work, and was happy to find out I could do some mountain biking and file that under "backcountry patrol". Ranger recommended I'd go on a hike with 79 year old Jerry first, who had spend the last 5 years setting up motion tracking camera's in the park.
I now know more about mountain lions (and the couple times they attacked people), snakes and tarantula eating bugs than I ever wanted.
I bike on my own and I've never been this fast, imagining danger everywhere around me. So that's fun.
