If you want a pseudo training mode in the demo, go to the character guide, and choose any of the Super Art guides. It let's you try yourself by pressing the touchpad.
If like me, your controller of choice has no touchpad, just sign out and then in with a dualshock 4, press it, and sign out and back in with your controller.
Still haven't figured out any decent utility for Ryu's st.HP, st.HK target combo. Can only combo into it from a heavy jump in, or a drive rush st.MP. It can't be special or super cancelled, and from what I can tell, doesn't leave them in a juggle state.
Yeah. I can't believe they've gone for a low frame rate for that mode?
I hadn't heard of World Tour before the demo, I thought it sounded like it might be silly fun. I guess it's just a mode to get people to buy virtual currency and spend it on like Street Fighter X Adidas hoodies for your create-a-fighter lol.
Hopefully it's so bad they're shamed into remaking it into something that actually is silly fun later.
When you got movies like Tom Cruise in them, you can't lose
Tried the demo last night and ended up switching it off in favour of MK11. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
I'd imagine it'll be fine for those who get into it, but aside from anything else I thought the music used for the build up exhibition match I tried was horrendous. It's got too much Fight Night Champion UFC Prime Energy drink energy for a SF game. I'm out.
Just watching a video and the World Tour thing is a Tekken Force/Yakuza battles mode of sorts. I thought someone said it was just one on one battles and I lost interest. Maybe I'll play the scrolling beat 'em up campaign at some point.
It is sort of both.
The fights are 2D flat plane, health bars, all the usual stuff but sometimes its one on two, or two on two etc. Probably closer to a fighter than a scroller.
I thought it was fun as fuck. Just pure silliness. Impressions are all over the place for this game. Gerstmann is head over heels in love with it and he hates everything like me.
Can't say I took to the open world mode but it seems to be getting big thumbs up on several other sites so maybe it needs a bit more time to get it (I gave it 5 minutes after creating my character and that was me done)
But I'm all for the main game. Both Ryu and Alex are great fun to play as and the AI seems decent. Really looking forward to getting to try the full roster.
What is this hub bollocks? I can’t even look around cos my fight pad doesn’t have a right thumbstick.
Played matches against randoms but most haven’t a clue how to play. I was getting so bored of players leaving after a match. The last straw was when one person just gave up after the first round. Gah.
Loved the demo, still playing it (level 6, 4 star advantage for cpu is just perfect solo difficulty for me)
I may not have money free for it straight away as holidays plus disgusting number of birthdays are going to drain my free cash over the next few weeks but once I'm good, I'm all in.
It's not to say you won't like the d-pad - or will you use the thumbstick cos that seems fine just not what I use? But it was the best I could find for a budget. Sticks are like over £200 for a Qanba or similar. Might have to invest in one at some point if my son plays as his (mine!) Madcatz TE2 doesn't work on PS5. And he's a stick person unlike his dad.
