All the colour conventions are fucked nowadays, I recjkon he means what I would call gold top, I recall an orange top being popular a year or so back was 1% so yeah in between semi and skimmed

Yeah getting the cals in for double training is immense, im on it today so will have to grab a tub of b&j after weights to make sure I dont go into deficit.
Starting to feel it now. Just did first 100kg deadlift. Squatting at 90kg. OHP currently at 42.5kg. Enjoying the steady progression though I've decided to up my deadlift quicker than the squat.
Also felt for the first time the need for chalk on the deadlift

Everyday is a cheat day for me at the moment. Nice gainz in strength but the belly is starting to show. No real concern for me as I have shredding set for january! Long term plan.
So I have started to notice some change in my physique. As has my *ahem* wife. Arms and shoulders, and even back, have noticeabley gone a bit bigger. I wanna see traps get bigger though. Chest isn't as noticeable.
Unfortunately the gut remains. So Rippetoe reckons bulk up first and then cut. If I have understood him correctly. But I've read contrary advice saying that skinny fats should lose first before bulking. Hmmm.
You can do both at once but it's tricky and you need to be strict. I'd go with Rippetoe meself, man knows his stuff. You're bound to add fat when you're gaining size anyway, so any fat lost pre-bulk will be regained to some extent.

I did a couple of squats with not so great form and now have Tendinitis...
I cut before I bulked because my work trousers were getting too tight around the waist. Now I'm bulking my work trousers are starting to get too tight around the thighs.
I've read about the recomp/lean gains diets where you eat at maintenance, I did consider it but because the results take so long to manifest it wouldn't have the rewards which I'd need to see and experience weekly for me to sustain that. It's something I'll do for a few months next summer though.
Yeah you defo miss out on gains trying to stay 'in shape' while putting on muscle imo, very difficult to find the correct amount of calories ect. Ive always found it easier to cut weight so I may be lucky in that respect but its defo the way to go, it just can be disheartening to people who see themselves putting on weight whilst theyre training and think they should be losing weight.
