I've just got the second mode of transport - up to Level 40 now so I'll do a bit more grinding:

One major change I've made is to make oliver the main magician out of the group (healing/elemental spells) and leave any physical attacks to Swaine - I've even given him Olivers familiar. The girl just stands around and uses all her MP in about 30 seconds.

Seems to be working for me quite well, last two boss fights have been easy doing it this way.

ah yes theres a few round there, same group of islands right?
theres also a few variations of that same fam with diffrent exp gains for each.
i still aint had one yet, i will actually stop cooking and gambling and resume the quest soon.

I agree Charlie. Â It maybe to early to call it, but it's shaping upto be my fav JRPG ever. Â I only have one gripe(minor truth be told), but will hold back on posting it for the mo.

Hard to say bud, without a quick scan of a guide, but on Sun I did the first chunk of(what I believe to be) the final push, Â maybe round 85-90% of the main quest. Â As I said, without a guide I have no idea what's around the corner, which is just the way I like it.

The story is just feckin A!

currently hunting the 3 stones.Just got the dragon and doing levelling and exploring though first.

iv been at that same stage for ages, cant drag myself away from casino or tbe battling at tournaments that im making no proggress on.

A fair few tips have been mentioned over the last 6 or so pages. Â I'm on my phone atm, Â so will refrain from banging out a boatload. Â Will say though, if you block or interrupt an opponents move, you get a "Nice" which equals more HP/MP glimms*, which inturn gets(a little mind you) Esther from going mental on your caffine supplies.

*Edit: Â If you get it spot on(I think), you will generate a gold glimm which can mean the end of most battles. Â Always nice to fin a boss off on a golden move, just for the love of God make sure you grab it & not the AI. Â Seen quite a range of supercharge moves now.

I have to admit, I have turned a corner on my own Esther hate. Â She has saved my Ass fair few times now. Â Give her the right fams, watch her own health, Â glimm generation, correct use of "all out attack" & "all out defense", making sure she has decent kit. Â My only beef now with her is if she grabs a gold glimm before I do as "cresendo" ain't doing the smackdown. Â I have more a beef with Swaine these days & Esther's MP gorging is small time compared to Oli's/Me.

The battle system learning curve is steep & it has some crazy depth with the Pokemon elements. Â Once it all clicked, I think it is an awesome system.
