God, imagine a whole more year of this shit.
"ERE's like Mr. Muscle, he loves the things he hates"
  • It's better than no deal but not ideal. (Fuck me that sounds like a Tory soundbite)

The Tusk proposal says we can exit whenever a deal is met and with the way things have been going the past week or so I dont think it will be a year. MPs are waking up to the fact the public are fatigued and compromise is needed.

The longer it drags out, the more likely a 2nd ref or a soft brexit will happen. The EU know this.
  • The EU are going to draft in special measures to make sure that our idiot MEPs can't just fuck around and cockblock proceedings after they're voted in as some sort of brexit protest.

That is one of the most embarrassing things that will have ever happened to this country, aside from the actual leave vote in the first place. So thanks for pissing off most of the rest of the European parliament, Rees-Mogg, you walter the softy looking cum funnel.

Meanwhile I have no idea how May is going to control her own party now, since like half of them voted fuck no to the idea of this June extension in the first place, they're now going to be told the extension will be until december or march 2020 lololol.
"Let me tell you, when yung Rouj had his Senna and Mansell Scalextric, Frank was the goddamn Professor X of F1."
  • The ERG reaction to MEP elections is shameful and May should condemn it.
Really, really embarrassing. I just hope European folk understand that these people arent representative of the UK despite being elected.

Also, I feel like I haven't said "fuck off Kate Hoey" in a while. So fuck off Kate Hoey, over 70% of your constituency voted remain you withered cunt.

GE, 2nd Ref in labour manifesto, labour majority, socialist utopia, remain wins, Bernie Sanders beats Trump.

    Hallelujah!
  • Must admit I'm a bit confused now. Is it a definite long delay to the shitshow or does that need to be voted on by parliament? And has the status of British MEPs been confirmed or is that up in the air?

And finally is Walter the softie cum funnel the best insult yet on the forum? Certainly made me chuckle.

  • Presumably Theresa May has until December this year to get this locked up because she has immunity from being challenged by her own party. After that it’s anyone’a game.
  • I believe the UK parliament still have to vote to agree to the extension offered by the EU. Otherwise we are still out on May the 1st or whenever it is.

  • OH FUCK THE NO DEAL DATE IS STILL THE 12TH APRIL.

I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think this needs approval from parliament as it’s an international treaty, although I could well be wrong. Still, if it’s this or no deal, I’m sure this will pass.

Britain will be standing in the E.U. elections as part of this.

And it’s a decent insult, but we’ve had a fair few decent insults over the years, and I’m not sure whether there’s a majority for any of them, so we’d need some sort of indicative votes followed by a referendum on the outcome to know for sure.
  • Well guys, unless the worlds shittest, least charismatic prime minister in recorded history is able to unite a majority in parliament in the next 2 days, I just want to say, it was a pleasure to serve with you.

Yeah, that has me a bit worried. It all seems a bit up in the air doesn't it.

A majority have already rejected no deal. I would find it hard to understand anyone's justification for changing their minds now.

Will she have to seek the approval of parliament for a delay?

No – the Cooper bill was amended in the Lords so the prime minister maintains the prerogative power to unilaterally agree an extension, not least as the EU summit would have broken up by the time MPs said yes or no. But May does usually give a statement to the Commons after European summits, so one could happen on Thursday, or else next week.

Look at you, using logic to predict this shambles.

  • Yeah, tommorow(iirc) EU votes on it but looks like it will pass.
May is bound by law to ask for an extension, I dont think that means she can stand 50ft away from a saucepan of brussel sprouts and mumble it, she has to properly seek an extension so will realistically have to accept this extension.

My hope is that this will put pressure on May to move towards Labour's proposals, we decide something this week (let's face it every option is out there, nothing new is going to occur) and we can leave with a very soft Brexit before May 22nd and stop cum funnels from disrupting the EU's democratic process.

Logic’s been the best bet around talk of no deal. Anything else, not so much.
  • Wasn't that the vote to say we can't propose no deal as an option during the last round of votes on what everyone wants to do?

I think we can still accidentally no deal out if the long extension isn't voted for.

Edit: Nevermind, I are too slow and also wrong. So we are now going to be given an extension until either december or march, whichever the EU vote on at the summit?

Fuck me, 12 more months of can kicking it is.

Not sure I’m following the question, but the Cooper bill was the one that passed last week which said that the PM must request an extension if she doesn’t have a deal.
  • Noel Edmonds was planning a game show comeback in 2016. Brexit's totally ruined it for him.
Don't wank. Zinc in your sperms
  • Wait if we can't decide to participate in the EU elections by the 12th we also no deal out. OH FFS.

    We gunge Farage
  • I hope the EU put restrictions on uk meps. Anyone remember EVEL?

    Fuck them.
  • Wait, it's not an automatic no deal if we don't agree to stand in the EU elections, I think it just means that we'd then have until May the 22nd or whenever it is to get a deal agreed or then we no deal out.

All this can kicking is making it hard to keep track of how many opportunities for no deal fuckeries there are.

"Let me tell you, when yung Rouj had his Senna and Mansell Scalextric, Frank was the goddamn Professor X of F1."
  • The big question I need answered.
How the fuck do I vote in these MEP elections.
I have always voted in GEs and most times in council elections (didn't vote while at uni because of my short stay there, didn't seem right to vote when I would be gone in a matter of months).

I have never even seen an opportunity to vote for MEPs. When was the last one? How do I do it next month?

Ooh I did not realise this. I thought it had to be voted on. Her doing it "unilaterally" will not be popular, but if she legally has to then lol/yay mayber. But as the onzo says, folk's not gonna be happy.

Hopefully there'll be pro European parties standing in the European elections, reminding people of the good it can do. The irony of Mogg saying they'll use their power to scupper the EU if they win seats, having said they campaign about it being undemocratic and gives the UK insufficient power, is pretty shameless.
