You can still get it. Although I didn't speak to him first time around.

Genuinely loving this game, I glided off the plateau and the world below is massively daunting. Heading towards the next checkpoint and already getting distracted. Wonderful stuff.

Right ready to jump off to the great below now, don't know whether to follow the checkpoint or just jump off in a random direction!

Although there's still a boss on the great plateau that appeared out of rocks, I'm wondering whether one of my new abilities could be put to good use on him?

And the guardian robot things seem pretty much impervious to my attacks so might have to come back to them later.

Yep. I tried doing what you said in spoiler and after one failed attempt thought fuck it. Still had bomb arrows so I just used them from a safe spot.
