Seems there's a Halloween event on, with access via Deimos. Looks super simple, just grind Mother tokens and spend them on a selection of rewards, BUT... The rewards include Plague Zaw parts, and this is currently the only way to get them.
These parts go towards crafting some of the very best melee weapons in the game and are something I've wanted since I started playing again. Looks like I'm token grinding this weekend.
Nah, I totally get that. I'd tried four or five times and couldn't stick with it despite seeing it's potential, and then on another go it all just clicked. I couldn't begin to explain why that time and not before. Very glad it finally did though.
Yeah, I enjoy the fishing as well. Such a change of pace. All the open-worlds have their fair share of charm, but I'm not a huge fan of any of the open-world bounties. Certain aspects always seem so random.
And srsly, Archwing on the Plains or Orb Valis is a game changer. Just remember that you need the Archwing launcher segment for your ship and the actual Archwing launcher for your equipment, and that you're limited to your equipped weapons until you craft something else that let's you deploy Archwing weapons. I've never bothered with that though, regular weapons work just fine.
Yeah it's reusable, once you've built the launcher just put it in your equipment wheel and use it at will. It's easiest to use while jumping.
It's just that when I went to build it I didn't realise you needed both the launcher and the segment, but if you're at that stage in the build process you should be all good.
It might be worth trying clan chat for the bounties. Just mention your MR and that you're still relatively new to the PoI. I'm my experience clans love to help, especially high MR players with not much to do.
But if you're just chasing iradite I wouldn't even bother loading into a bounty. Just enter the plains and have a wander around. As long as you leave via the gates to Cetus it'll save everything you've collected.
Wanted to start farming those Mother tokens so finally did the Heart of Deimos opening missions and unlocked the hub and access to the Entrati. Then I found out Mother tokens come from bounties... Fucking kill me.
Love the Cambion Drift though. Such a cool open-world. So squelchy.
Got my archwing on in open world. Lol. Awesome. Also, low level quest with some high level dudes who just blew everything up including drop ships. Was awesome.
Mesa prime up to Max, Titania on her way. And she was very handy because now I have my first riven mod unlocked.
Her 1 ability made getting pilots on the Plains not a pain in the ass.
Also, bounties not actually shit if you are constantly getting dumped into squads. Managed to get a few done easily this morning because I was constantly in 4 player squads. Only got voted down once on doing bounties.
4 frames zipping around the map with archwings is quite a thing.
Got lex prime too, kinda annoying pistol, Tbh.
Javlok continues to be amazing. And is particularly brill for archwing jn open world as its basically a rapid fire almost hitscan rocket launcher. 6 in the clip a solid amount of aoe and lots of fire damage. Shoot into crowds ftw.
Annoyingly, I need another fucking 3k of plastids for final part of wukong.
Up to second last part of inaros quest. Second boss battle was a bit of a shit show, but done now.
Stormy, which fishing do you recommends for getting 6 catches in a row. That unlocks my second riven. Earth seems way too picky. Thinking deimos. Those flying fucks seem easier from memory.
Titania was how I did that particular Riven challenge as well, a very handy cheese. And yeah, I still haven't got the plastids needed for Wukong and it's been an age.
Wait 'til you get to the final Inaros boss fight. I got utterly rekt the first time. Had to switch to a frame with a good stun and my best melee weapon, and even then I only just scraped through.
Re: fishing. Agreed, PoI fish are too twitchy. Deimos is a good shout, Orb Vallis cave fishing as well as they seem easier to catch than their surface cousins. Luminous dye is a must, and if you haven't already used it you'll wonder how you ever fished without it.
Had my first clan squad today. Just 2 of us, but it was cool. Wanted him to help with octavia, which is how I discovered its solo only, but he was happy to help with something else.
Was able to do the lua def mission to get to eris. Good stuff. Really good defense mission too. Very dead or alive.
Bless the community in this game. Random dropped into my rhino farming. Helped with that, then we had a run trying to do protea. Not as successful, but man, just carried me through stuff for like an hour easy and now I have rhino building and a bunch of other blueprints and stuff.
That's great, this community really is something. And Rhino is a very good frame. I never use his 1, but all of his other abilities are rock solid in pretty much every situation.
Nice! The speed of your MR increase, and the rate that you're building new weapons and frames is really impressive. My progress is leisurely in comparison.
I had a blast relic farming in a squad yesterday. My Octavia providing the doof doof, a Khora bringing the S/M murder toys, and a Trinity keeping us juiced, felt like we could have kept going all night.
Oh my, have finally got enough real good mods to be doing some pretty special stuff on certain guns now.
Have my Cernos bow nearly rerolled max again for third time, and have primed cryo, plus ridic crit damage and chance. Orange crits flying everywhere and not even at max I could take it through a sedna mission and 1 shot nearly everything the grineer could through at me.
Hell yeah, that's what you want! I've still only got a couple of ranged weapons that trigger orange crits reliably - but damn they're awesome to use.
Melee is still where I'm happiest, and Blood Rush (boosts crit chance % as your combo-multiplier increases) on Broken War and certain Zaws sees constant orange crits and even reds if there's enough enemies around. Add Condition Overload (% damage buff based on number of status effects on a target) and you're killing bosses quicker than you can read that last sentence.
