I've never understood that comparison. I love gore splattered movies but have absolutely no desire to see real death and violence.

I missed this thread's original incarnation but have noted what the original content was and can only assume that any unsavoury tone in the thread title or OP was a misguided attempt at humour by young Temp.  He's certainly (as far as I know) not shown a predilection for this sort of thing in the past, so give him a break.  

He certainly doesn't deserve the ridiculous lambasting led by Unlikely though.  You implied it, but effectively you called Tempy a sick little shit who gets off on violence (adding that he's lovely in real life is a bit cheap too) and suggested he can fuck off.  Dear me.

A gore thread (if that's what it was) is certainly not on, but Unlikely and Pug's squeamishness is problematic.  Gore for gore's sake has no place here (or arguably anywhere), but something confronting that is relevant and in context and warrants discussion certainly does.

Pug was almost adorably helpless when gripped by his fear of unsavoury material but Unlikely was worryingly militant about it, plus he admitted he didn't know what the video was, only that he was "probably right".  Dear me again.  I expect to see that stuff in the Herald Sun letters section, not here.

What else do you have a problem with btw?  Just for future reference.  I wouldn't want to start a thread on Hungarian cabinet making only to have it shot down by someone who had a bad carpentry experience once.

Finally (get off the stage!), if said unsavoury but relevant content is linked and surrounded with adequate warnings (hell, you could carry on a discussion about it in spoiler tags if the discussion is upsetting to some) then surely you can avoid clicking said link.  This alarmist moral posturing business is silly.
