  • Mega Man 11

Only played a bit. I really can’t play old school games anymore. Just don’t have the skills or the patience.
I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER.
  • I rate Sterling far far higher than yahtzee, angry Joe or that cleanprincegaming guy. Horses n courses n that.

    Yeah this.
    Yahtzee is almost exclusively dismissive.
Also his style is heavily scripted unlike Jimpressions which are off the cuff.

Angry Joe and CleanPrince are outrage porn, atleast Joe did it early on.

Sterling is actually very clued up on things, he actually worked as a games journalist unlike others. He definitely profits off outrage but he gets things done.
The lootboxes being removed from Battlefront was mostly down to him and what he started. Likewise the campaign against all gambling in games. He has the ability to get across his point in a way that people outside of the gaming community will listen.
  • I suspect a bunch of things given I've had time to attack pile of shame recently.

Currently pottering about in reCore, but it's kinda just off base on everything. It's been easy so far, so potential issues are mitigated, but controls in combat are just ever so off, and the animations and ques for when bad stuff is happening aren't really snappy.

Even the jumping, which is very functional and big, double jump with a dash, doesn't really look that cool.

You can drop from a great height and not die, which is nice, I guess, but there's no sense of why, or that your jet pack legs are doing the work.

I also suspect it's what bigger than I thought, given the other animals I'm going to unlock, and I don't know that there's enough moment to moment interest fro me to go the long hawl.

Started a futuristic racer called distance on steam, humble purchase. Meh. Kinda cool, but a bit naf to look at and my cack hands mean I bounce of walls and ruin flow a lot.

It seems short though, so perhaps I'll survive to the end fo the campaign accidentally.

Don't reckon I'll last on Into the breach either.

I keep wanting to like some of these strat games, but man, just not my genre. I might try another run or two, because I can see the quality and the tightness of the rule set already.
I'm still great and you still love it.

I can't stand cleanpricegaming, his delivery is so earnestly sincere, he's definitely a softboi.

  • So immortal planet didn't last long. Tried a number of routes. Met a few enemies who had moves that would leave you open to chained hits that would take you from 100% to basically nothing.

One mistake, get stunned, big hit, then no options to counter. Get fucked.
I'm still great and you still love it.
  • Really in the mood for a 3rd person actioner, but bouncing off stuff like crazy and don't wanna spend too much cash given pile o shame.

(Because seriko is the obvious answer.)

Also not necessarily wanting that level of challenge. Could do with some rpgness.

With that jn mind, I had shiness in to play pile.

Ticks a couple of boxes, third person, action adventure, combat seems fine.

But jesus fuck, it's kids and it's furries and it's too fucking much.

    Bounced off it very quick.

Nabbed ashen dlc so will crack through that then maybe a free batman.
I'm still great and you still love it.
  • Mood I'm in at the moment this is my thread.

Trying lots of stuff waiting for things to stick.

Shadowrun tried. Not my bag. Bye. (the Iso rpg)

    Axiom verge. (freebie on epic)

Too 8 bit for me. Get fucked with your 2 shooting angles.
I'm still great and you still love it.

I'm officially tapping out of Baba is You. It's a wonderful game but the last couple of hours have been more frustrating than enjoyable, almost entirely due to my own limititation in figuring out the solutions.

I would've loved there to be some kind of hint system in the game but that's quite possibly against the spirit. I hit a similar wall with The Witness and, as with that, it's a shame I won't get to see more of Baba but certainly glad that I played it.
  • GRIS. It looks wonderful, but all style and not an ounce of substance makes for a very boring experience.
  • WHAAAAAAA....??? I thought it had more than an ounce of substance. Just maybe not done too well.

  • Into The Breach. 5 small islands and thats it? I dont get the praise that game gets. May need to give it some more time.
  • How long have you spent on it?

A huge part of the game is learning from your playthroughs and replaying with different skills, mech teams, pilots, etc. If you don't like the core gameplay then it's probably not for you but it's not a beat all 5 islands and done type of game.

Maybe check the thread for more info or tips in case that helps. FWIW I wasn't overly keen when I first started but it became one of my favourite games of the last few years.

  • It’s the most meticulously designed tactics game in years. 5 small islands, my days.
  • It’s in my top 10 of the decade. And the OST in my top soundtracks of all time.
I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER.
  • Also, you beat the game that easily?

I'll have a look at the thread. Im not one for repeated playthroughs when ive seen the end credits of a game. Just dont have that much free time available to me.

  • Gears 5 campaign.
Unfortunately as I was enjoying it.
Fuck that Matriarch boss though. I have tried all the strategies there are but even then a single mistake equals death. I've got it to the point it just leaps around then death.

It is a rancid turd of a boss that really, really needs patching.

Cheap insta kills, stupid forced brain fart segments. In a game with lock on it would be fine but the Gears gameplay is built around darting between points, not circling round the back of something or keeping track of an enemy that can rapidly move around the playing field.

I honestly cannot believe they thought that would be fun to play, it isnt even very Gears like. It is like putting a Dark Souls boss directly into Gears.

  • That newest Metro. It’s like a last gen game with its pacing and lack of humour. The game may be fine but I can’t ever really find out as there’s too much unskippable and terrible talking going on before during and after. Love the idea. Shit execution. It’s too far up it’s own arse too. Less of this nonsense please.

Pfftt Liv. Me and Webbo did it first try. You suck.

    OK, 10th try. It sucks
  • Haha.
I should probably try to Badger up for it, I think it would be much easier on coop.
If there was an option to just remove Del I would take it.
  • I didn't find it tough, but boy is it boring. There are a lot of enemies and bosses in the game which just drain your ammo.
  • I'm not known for my patience in games.
Gears isn't the series to demand the player be patient either.
  • I get ya, I wouldn't carry on either. There was a bit later on that nearly made me quit too, but I am far too belligerent.
  • There were a few bits leading up to this boss that pissed me off as well tbh.
The lake outside the mine was a drag, the snatcher just inside, the Jack fuel escort mission. All tedious with annoying little enemies constantly hanging about.

I mean, honestly, this is fair. But I kinda love the characters. I love the bits on the train. I'm all in for all of it. Which I'm usually not.

The pacing generally can be funky, but I just love the whole series, and all its faffing about with pumps and visors and filters between shooting.
I'm still great and you still love it.
