I'm looking for a rally video I've seen in the past. I think it was group b, somewhere hot like Greece with the camera on the bonnet. It had the golden light quality to it. It was the whole stage Any suggestions.

Any idea of the surface? If it's tarmac that would likely pin it down to Corsica
  • I think gravel/dirt but I might be wrong. It's definitely more film then actual rally now that I think about it.

I seem to remember dusty red dirt with that sunset golden glow.
  • To be honest my half remembered and quickly changing memory is making it really hard to pin it down. But it's got me watching cool rally videos so if you have any recommendations I'll watch those.

It's not the Paris driving video is it?

The game series "You don't know Jack". How easy are they to setup to play with friends?

I was just chatting to a mate and thinking of doing a night with a few of us.
Could also be an idea for badgers if it's easy enough to do.

Not sure specifically on that but other jackbox games you'd need to stream your console so others can see everything that is going on, then they connect remotely with their phone on a website to play. It's straightforward if you are have a twitch account or similar to stream from.

Cheers mate. I will look into it.

No, but that was a good watch
  • So utterly fucked off with Hermes as a delivery company. 2nd time in two weeks they have delivered a parcel in my wifes name, resolved my tracking number as delivered. So i dont receive my parcels. They have blocked any way for you to speak to a human via their telephone number. The live chat is just a bot. They have no twitter presence as far as i can see.

First order sports direct sent out again which was some balls for my son to play with. This time its a dunhelm clock for his bedroom. I have contacted dunhelm so will see what they say.

Its so frustrating that you cant get in touch with them properly. Only way has been via resolver.co.uk and i got a response for the first parcel. Standard we are looking into it and will get back to you.

Dont understand why other delivery companies are fine but hermes are so utterly shit.

I don't understand why companies use hermes. It reflects badly on them.
  • Probably cheap.
  • Of course its because they're cheap.

The way they are cheap is by not doing things properly. But that doesnt matter, because the company can shrug their shoulders and blame Hermes.
  • and people will still shop with them.

Piece work for the point of delivery so I don;t apportion (much) blame on them for gaming the system (except when it's my parcel). Pay people properly for the work they do and they won;t play a game of stitching up their employer before their employer stitches them up

This is the single greatest paragraph in forum history.

Go shout at DS btw Dino.  He works for Dun(h)elm at their call centre.  He’ll sort it for you.

I feel the Hermes pain btw.  I’m going through a claim for a parcel declared delivered that didn’t arrive and it’s one big pain.  Wife bought a big Jo Malone candle as a Christmas gift and the Hermes guy literally threw the empty box at her and ran off giggling.

Did you pay by credit card?
  • Jo Malone sent my wife a replacement.

Mine is a debit card payment with go outdoors (who are actually owned by JD Sports and so take the Sports Direct attitude that all customers are actually thieves and criminals).  They have sent me a declaration to sign and then swear on the bible that i defo didn’t get my £62.00 item and that I’m not committing some elaborate yet small scale mail fraud and also that if that’s all a lie then I’m going to be prosecuted for making false statements on official JD Sports headed paper.  Still blaming Hermes though.  Proper shit.

Sorry for another question. Mentioned elsewhere we have a small leak under the kitchen sink. There's a wee crack in a pipe. I'm not keen to get someone in to the house with a pregnant wife unless absolutely vital, and my mother in law suggested there's sort of industrial tape that I can use to patch it up until a plumber comes in.

However, I'm wondering if anyone has any specific recommendations as to what would be the best stuff / where to order from etc?

There is tape that plumbers use to seal joints - forget what it's called...but your normal DIY shop will stock that.
Holding the wrong end of the stick since 2009.
  • In my experience trying to sort out plumbing myself has been an absolute fucking disaster. I’d get a plumber in.

Or if it's one of the plastic pipes attached to the sink then you can probably get a generic piece from a diy shop and replace it yourself. Take a photo, bring it to the shop and ask them.
  • Yeah, ideally get yourself a replacement piece of pipe and some plumbers tape. The tape is wrapped around the threads on the pipe before you screw it together, making a watertight seal.

We will probably get a plumber, but just looking for dat tape as a stopover.
  • Plumber’s tape isn’t for patching holes, it’s for making a proper seal on joints. Don’t think it’d help much for what you’re suggesting.

I'm generally useless at diy but as a relatively recent homeowner, I'm discovering that a lot of things are much easier to do than they initially appear. I've saved thousands so far I'd day.

There is another type of heavy sticky tape for the exterior. I also forget what it's called.
  • Gaffa tape, duct tape, Gorrila Tape (if you want a brand) will all be fine. I assume this is a minor leak that is seeping through a hairline crack and not some smashed to shit pipe.
Obviously if possible also put something under the pipe to catch drips.

Guessing it is running along the shaft of the pipe. Get the pipe as dry as possible then wrap it in layers of tape. The first layer being the most important, make it as tight and even as possible.

White plastic plumbing found under a sink is a piece of piss though. It is worth learning how to fix it, although I appreciate the timing is not good.
  • Monster Loony Gorilla Ape Tape
  • There’s this specialist stuff, but it’s expensive.
