Xenoraid on Switch....it's a bit good this. Graphically it's humdrum but it's a nice game. Not sure how it will play with a pad though - I played it with mouse and keyboard.
Two consecutive runs to level 6 tonight. One of them was a no-miss. Only used 2 bombs to get there. Then screwed up royally.
Second one I got there with 2 lives but was gutted as the life I lost had 5 bombs. Got to the final phase of level 6 but only with 1 life and failed at the mad dodging bit.
Wii GW is half way between GW2 and 3 as it introduces collecting geos to unlock levels and drones. Rather nice game.
You can play with wiimote (aim & fire) and nunchuck (move) which is challenging but it's nice that they tried it. Traditional pro controller support is better really.
'If you have ever played a video game (if you are reading this you almost certainly have) then you likely have Taito to thank. It has been 40 years since they released their monumentally influential arcade title, Space Invaders, an indisputable founding-father of modern gaming. To celebrate this occasion, Taito and Degica are bringing the invasion to Steam in 2018. Stay tuned for more details at the beginning of the new year!'
The Space Invaders related email is interesting. You may have noticed my love of it from my collection pictures (which, btw are missing Space Invaders Anniversary for PS2 that I omitted by mistake).
The self-inflicted pain/pleasure that is Gigawing continues.
Did a bit of level 5 & 6 grinding last night trying to 1 life that section.
It's all about execution now - know exactly what I need to do - those last 2 levels are just so effing tight the slightest deviation screws you up. I am further improving/tweaking my paths and positioning incrementally though.
I haven't really played a shmup in years now but I remember when pushing for the 1cc on Ikaruga, the period when I knew I could do it, just had to string a run together, was both encouraging and frustrating. Hang in there!
Beware of MS Anthology - I think someone else here bought it on PSN and it was the PS2 version which in PAL is a laggy, 50Hz , bordered mess.
Haven't had a chance to play any Gigawing these last two nights for various reasons - so that's probably knocked me back a tad - will be back at it tonight.
