The Credits Club - finishing games an hour at a time

I played the first hour of Dead Space 2 tonight. I'm going to try to keep up daily sessions, but we'll see. I liked it. I didn't play the first for long because I thought the opening two hours were a little samey. I do tend to get bored easily by retail games these days, as XBLA is quickly becoming gaming heaven for me, but I do want to finish this one.

I have half of the third island done and I'm pretty sure I'm near the endgame, but the difficulty spiked big and I've not played it in at least six months, probably longer.
I want to finish it though because I really enjoyed the game and the sequel is supposed to be better. -
The third island is much shorter than the others. Have you done the bit with the massive tower? That was the highlight for me although it was hard to resist the temptation to throw the annoying, generic lead off it.

I have done a massive tower, not sure if it's the one you're talking about. Some of the enemies now are giant psychic projections and I just get overwhelmed when they're combined with the third islands grunts and machine guns/explosions.

It's really really massive, and made out of junk. The projections aren't too bad and the game becomes a cake-walk once you get the lightning strike power.

I think I might already have every power. I'll try play a while tonight and see what the craic is.

Okay played it a bit last night and managed to make it to the mission marker without being killed.
It was one of the sewer missions which was easy and unlocked Lightning Strike.
Now I have to power up three substations and defend them for a while. Did the first okay, but died trying to get the second one powered up. -

which, Rage? Seems there is a nice stealth part to it with the wingdarts and crossbow.

Thinking I'll be starting Mass Effect 3 or continuing Fez later today.I'm still great and you still love it. -
Played some more inFamous last night. Decided not to do the main mission, but did every sidequest available to me instead. Have 100% of the first two islands cleared now.
Tonight I'll try the substations mission again. -
mods have made me intent on restarting skyrim and polishing it off, wish me luck

I've had a busy week but finally found a spare hour today to crack on with Killer7. Great game - all the restrictions in the controls and the lack of sensitivity in the aiming demands that it is played in a certain way. Plus the cutscenes are great!

Ah thats the one, were kinda thinking it might be good fodder for the gf to try out though?
She were getting to grips with max payne 3 with soft lock on so i think its possible.
Been playing loads off and on so i may just let her do an hour a day and wright up her summarys for her....make it a bit more interesting!

I gave up a while ago, after whizzing through (what felt like) the first half, because the getting between the real levels bit was really tedious (i.e. I got stuck). The new user-gen stuff seems a good reason to get back at it.
I'm now working through the Cave Johnson bits, been lots of fun.
Tonight I have the white goo bits to look forward too (oo-er fnar fnar etc.). 1981 or something it says on the walls.
