Team Clueless (plus special guest JRPC) managed to do most of it, just failing to beat the boss. A successful session overall, though, which saw multiple difficulties overcome through teamwork, a never-say-die spirit, and multiple team members on the booze.
We also established that Turkish Delight is Satan’s swamp ass treat.
Team Clueless shall return tomorrow for an Aus-centric second raid and hopefully go one step further.
Many thanks to Zinthos for stepping in when called upon for another crack at the raid lair. Once again, unsuccessful, but bit-by-bit we’re getting it down.
Me too,
Would be devastating if she went too.
Anyway il keep it out of this thread and hope to be back playing with badger in a day or so.
Fingers crossed.
Another productive day in the Team Clueless clan. Clan XP for the week currently sits at 80K and I’d like to maintain our 100% XP target achievement if possible. If anyone still has milestones to hit with any characters before the reset, now is the time.
I'll still be in to finish the raid lair at some point. I'll try and be less of a miserable bastard too.
I don't mind some of the design but so much is mired in the fact that even when you figure out what you need to do it's still so fiddly to get it done. Missed attempts usually aren't because of a lack of skill it's because one little element got missed for one second. Insta fail.
It would be more exciting if you could recover from an almost failure and carry on and then limp over the line. Against all odds!
I wouldn’t worry about it dude - if you’re not feeling it, don’t force it. I’d hate to think you’re getting roped into activities you don’t want to participate in. The game will still be here in the coming weeks and months, and whenever you feel like participating, just shout. Otherwise, it’s not a problem if you’d rather d something else.
I liked having you in the raid, but I didn’t like the feeling that you weren’t having fun.
And I agree that the current setup of raid encounters - do this thing perfectly, or team wipe - isn’t conducive to enjoying clutch moments. Hope that changes.
I do think the token system has removed that, and taking up 2 with one revive is even worse. In D1, there were plenty of times where it all seemed over, and then you'd get a last second revive to bring you back from the brink.
It seems like D2 makes you have a near perfect run, which is pretty opposite to the rest of the design philosophy.
And I'd still like to beat that boss. Seems like his steps aren't as finicky as the first raid at least.
I just think at its heart it's poor game design. Poor design that's carried by the social element which is why I like joining in and also why I hope the guys get into monster hunter when it comes out.
