Our work seem to use all of them. Teams, Skype for business, Zoom, Polycom and Blue Jeans.
None are perfect (Polycom is awful) but Zoom and Blue Jeans (who the fuck came up with that name) have been the most flexible (sharing videos with sound esp)
Skype is still what is used for those with a free personal office 365 account.
I'll be very surprised if it isn't changed to Teams as time goes by even if it is just a rebadging. Skype is full of security holes (according to our security bods anyhow).
They're definitely changing Skype for Business to Teams, but I can't find any announcement about personal Skype. Teams is far too complex a tool for someone just wanting to chat with their mother for 5 minutes.
What’s the android / chrome book / windows equivalent of FaceTime? I find FaceTime across Mac and iOS devices to be rock solid, super easy to add people on conference etc. Obviously no good for business: no screen sharing, no virtual whiteboard tools, no chat, not much flexibility with multiple windows etc but great for families. There must be a consumer equivalent on other platforms, no?
What's a decent free pdf reader program for pc? I've been using Adobe but frankly it's giving me nothing but problems, particularly the print to pdf option, which has a 50/50 chance of giving me corrupted files.
So the house we moved to came with a quooker tap in the kitchen. Instant boiling hot water. So its been useful, not having to boil a kettle etc.
So there was some wierd noise it was making today, missus noticed. So i got under the sink removed a false panel and took a look at the quooker. It had been leaking water. Turned the inlet combination value off etc and did some reading online. The stupid design has an open face half cut pipe that will occasionally drip water (for pressure reasons) into a waste tube connected to the sink waste tube. However the drip in our case was a constant stream that was flowing over and out this open pipe design. Its just fucking stupid. Image in link below as i cant get imgur bb code for some reason. The open face is below the red cap.
Sorry cant help there Dino.
Although basically the exact same thing happened with my parent's boiler over xmas. The metal housing that contained the heating coil cracked and resulted in water pissing out an overflow a lot like that one in the picture. Everytime the boiler kicked in for hot water or heating it pissed 50% of the water through that kind of overflow, although it was slightly larger so didnt spill over too much.
I imagine the design of these things share a lot with boilers.
Has anyone here ever considered a Masterclass.com subscription?
It is normally £170 per year, which is really quite expensive. They are doing a 2 for 1 deal at the moment so it would be £85 each. I might be tempted if someone wants to go in.
