The best tip is to scrape by on the first act and don't heal. If you really need to heal you've already fucked it so you might as well risk everything anyway by upgrading or heading for a shop instead. Camps are too important to just heal in the first act.
There are exceptions in high asc levels where you risk dying in the first half of act 1 but generally do not heal. I also find if you scrape by and get to act 2 but stuggle with the first fight you're probably doomed also, but never just quit or you won't learn anything.
Kids been watching me. Daughter has shown interest in playing. Will have to download it onto their Switch.
Do it. For one it's great for mental arithmetic. For a while my boy would only play it when I did it with him but over time he had a quick go here and there and now he's better with Defect than I am.
I just had a run where I got to halfway through act 3 with 150hp or so. Early Feed and increase HP at card selections. Fucked it by choosing more cards when I shouldnt have and ended with a big deck where Corruption and the exhaust/draw card didn’t come round soon enough. Got greedy. I was on auto, too tired. That vine mess normal enemy thing on Act 3 messed me up a bit just before I met Nemesis. Got unlucky with attacks being drawn when he had Artifact on.
Finally managed to complete a run with the silent, now moving on to the computer dude and by crikey I can’t get my head around that character. What’s the scoop?
I managed to get to AC 3 with watcher on the pc, winning back to back runs from the off before I'd even managed all the unlocks. I can't get passed AC1 with her on XBOX. I don't know what's going on.
Absolutely trolled by the game three runs in a row.
Random rare card was bludgeon on one. Great chance for quick wins early. It never drew on the right deal. Likewise I got slammed by multi enemy fights even though I had 2 attack all cards, never on the right deal.
A lot of luck and randomness but man, my monkey brain wants to blame someone.
Finally won with the silent! Bargaining chip + snecko eye was the winning combination I think. I also had a couple of bullet times so I never really felt threatened.
Asc2 done with Silent - took Tempys advice from earlier and avoided a deck archetype, just took solid cards, got rid of a few starting cards and early pick up of handy relics like toxic and molten egg. Solid blocking game with blur and afterimage, supported by some poison cards and a few flying knees. Bossed time Slug in the end.
A good Silent deck is usually not too focused. A bit here, a bit there, but if I had to generalise I'd say lots of draw cards can help with most builds.
A fun run where I had some really nice synergies with the stance switching, gaining block and energy, with flurry of blows coming back to me each time, and talk to the hand and wave of the hand adding to the fun.
Flurry of blows is not powerful enough without a lot of luck for late AC, and it's such a shame, because it's fucking catnip for me. I'll take it every time nearly. As you say, so fun.
I forgot to mention, but the other day I finished Asc 20 with my last remaining character, Silent.
Tbh it was a pretty epic final battle, awakened one with a deck relying on after image and footwork for defense and then slowly poisoning over time. Decided I was going to have to race AO so just played the powers and tried to hang on, ended the fight on 1hp. Blood vial pushed that up to 3hp lol for the donu deca fight.
Kind of a cool deck, Enchiridon for a bit of randomness with a mummies hand was a nice little way to start fights with some good old fashioned rng.
Just need to clear a heart run with Silent now and that's opretty much it for me outside of some of the deck building achievements. Gonna do it on normal difficulty though, it took nearly 50 runs to clear Asc 20 with Silent for me, no way I'm going to try and run a Asc. 20 heart kill after that.
